Bernhard Hoetger (1874 - 1949) was a sculptor, painter, architect and craftsman - his masterpieces include the design of Böttcherstraße and the Atlantis building in Bremen. In addition, his work was so varied that it can hardly be summarized in one sentence.
Carsten Rocker (Prager Botschaft / Held der Gladiatoren) wrote the music for the cinema/feature film documentary by director Gabriele Rose with Moritz Führmann as Bernhard Hoetger and was able to win Stefan Pintev (from the Elbphilharmonie Orchestra) for the violin and viola recordings. The results are rousing (A Period of Change, Power of Creation...), but also quietly fragile pieces (Paula...) of great intensity.
The CD booklet contains numerous illustrations as well as a foreword by director Gabriele Rose and notes on the music by Carsten Rocker.
