I find that whole thing more interesting than sheer "fantasy collaborations", i.e. collaborations that were actually started, but that for various reasons were aborted. Agreed! I so agree with you. Mystic River was a superb movie that could have been even better had he used Morricone. Mystic River was a superb movie that could have been even better had he used Morricone. Eastwood's music robbed some of the scenes of their power. I think you and I argued over this earlier, Joan. I disagree with you, because I think the relatively simple musical language makes the power of the film all the greater. Like with BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN. I'm glad it didn't have a more traditional score heavy on Hollywood rhetoric.
