Yeah, that custom cover art is a definite improvement over the complete score release. That said... if the push was to go back to a single CD more "accessible" general release, why not revert to the older 70+ minute Deluxe Edition program which Davis already approved years ago, rather than unnecessarily leaving off half an hour more music that would have fit on that single disc? Just bizarre that there are now FOUR unique and different score programs for this work, all from the same record label no less. Yavar

The image in the vinyl listing shows the track times 1 Main Title / Trinity Infinity 3:53 2 Unable To Speak 1:13 3 Switched For Life 3:37 4 Switched At Birth 2:40 5 Switch's Brew 2:25 6 Nascent Nauseous Neo 4:00 7 A Morpheus Moment 1:39 8 Domo Showdown 1:14 9 Bring Me Dinner 0:39 10 The System 0:37 12 Ignorance Is Bliss / Cyber Cyphernetic 1:51 11 The Hotel Ambush 5:22 13 Exit Mr. Hat 1:20 14 The Cure 1:32 15 The Lobby 0:27 16 Dodge This 1:09 17 Ontological Shock 3:31 18 He's The One Alright 6:48 TOTAL TIME - 43:57 This new album is the 10-track 1999 score program, with 8 additional tracks from the 2021 Complete Edition added in between. The album is not chronological. "Ignorance Is Bliss / Cyber Cyphernetic" would go before "Hotel Ambush" chronologically. All three prior releases of this score were all chronological.

A program of 70 mins means two LPs, so I'd say the priority for this new program was the production of a single LP release. In three different colors, no less? I await the guys on Steve Hoffman's forum complaining about how certain colors of the vinyl are noisier than others. Why they're bothering to release a CD of it, who knows.

This is unique in that an anniversary release would usually be a deluxe and/or C&C presentation. Often re-re-releases will re-re-release the C&C but leave off the original album or the extras, but it's rarely something as truncated as this. Some stuff like this I would re-re-rebuy for it's nostalgia and other value. This is not one of those releases for me, but I'm glad for the hard-core Matrix-heads out there.

The Varese 40th Anniversary of The Omen added several cues not on the prior Deluxe Edition. Would be nice if an anniversary wasn’t an excuse to remove music that had previously been released. Yavar
