I'm surprised I entirely missed news of this release from a couple of years ago! I enjoyed Decca's "Quando L’amore è Sensualità" and superb compilation "Morricone Segreto", nice to see another of their Morricone releases.
I never got the GDM (less music than this Decca) release, I only had the old CAM. Anyway, it's a great score and I look forward to the upgrade. My apologies if there's already a thread on this that I missed -
I have this on the 2007 Japanese King CD which has the original LP artwork (and programme). I also missed this expansion when it came out, thank you for pointing it out.
A fantastic score indeed and the first one by the Maestro to be ever released on LP. A friend of mine who's not a specialist purchased this CD recently and told me : everything's already there. Well, maybe it's a slightly exaggerated statement but it's true that many morriconian stylisms are featured in this early and varied effort.
I bought this on release a few years ago. It's a very slight digipak, and if I remember the tray in mine was cracked. Good score. If I recall, Decca said at the time this was the first of several Morricone releases they had planned, but all I can think of since is those Segreto releases.
There was brief mention of it on this thread at the time...

I had that LP, bought in terrible condition and rarely played it as it was a wreck. Loved it though.
Morricone liked the brief theme 'Dachau' so much he later reused it in the scores to DAYS OF HEAVEN (only on the FSM release) and TRE NEL 1000. It's understandably a very sad piece, using only minimal notes, Morricone could draw a lot of emotion from just a few simple notes but so cleverly orchestrated. The vocal by Ken Coleman is only on the US LP. A really rich and varied score!
My copy came today. Playing it now. So far I've noticed that tr.6 - moderato swing - is a new piece, and yet no indication it is so. Others are asterisked. Nice track, mind you. And on I go..... Edit- about 13 mins longer.
