The 1964 film stars Sean Connery as James Bond in his third turn as 007 and is directed by Guy Hamilton. The bold GOLDFINGER orchestral score defined the mood and style of the entire series. Thrilling, dramatic, romantic, suspenseful, exhilarating - John Barry's GOLDFINGER has it all! Produced by Neil S. One thing that's exciting about this is the EON themselves wanted to celebrate this music in the 60th anniversary. They recognise it's importance! It's a pity that more music recordings don't exist any more, but that simply can't be helped. I know people will ask why the M&E element used on the Criterion laser disc wasn't used and I can't comment on that. All I can say is that the E spoils the M on that track. Besides, for all I know, and I genuinely don't know anything about this point, Eon themselves might have had an opinion about that. This is still the best presentation to date of one of the best and most important soundtracks in soundtrack history. The alternate vocal version of the song sounds 1000% better than the crappy sonics version released on the Shirley Bassey EMI and Columbia Singles Collection CD. Cheers

I've just ordered. A nice release for the 60th anniversary. A pity that original scoring elements are lost but La La Land have done what they can for this definitive Bond score.

What's with that new 90 day thing where you can't buy it from any other vendor? What's that all about? Is it just some James Bond stipulation?

What's with that new 90 day thing where you can't buy it from any other vendor? What's that all about? Is it just some James Bond stipulation? Probably. If EON are more involved with this release rather than simply licencing them to LLL as they have in past, of course it makes sense that there is a 90 day window in which they can make money via 007store rather than let the product become available from other vendors, who invariably inflate the price and exploit those not necessarily in the know.
