90 DAY EXCLUSIVE!

For the first 90 days of its release, this title can only be purchased EXCLUSIVELY HERE or at www.007Store.com

La-La Land Records, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, EON Productions and Universal Music Enterprises proudly commemorate the 60th Anniversary of 007 film GOLDFINGER, with a remastered and re-sequenced CD re-issue of composer John Barry's original motion picture score. The 1964 film stars Sean Connery as James Bond in his third turn as 007 and is directed by Guy Hamilton.

The bold GOLDFINGER orchestral score defined the mood and style of the entire series. The historic title song, sung by Shirley Bassey, packs a sonic punch that still hits as strongly today as it did six decades ago. Thrilling, dramatic, romantic, suspenseful, exhilarating - John Barry's GOLDFINGER has it all!

Produced by Neil S. Bulk, restored by Chris Malone and mastered by Doug Schwartz, this remastered CD release re-sequences the original album tracks into film order for the first time and includes additional material, including a mono mix of the title song that offers a different vocal performance by Shirley Bassey.

This special release is limited to 5000 units with new, exclusive liner notes by journalist and author Jon Burlingame and art design by Dan Goldwasser

One thing that's exciting about this is the EON themselves wanted to celebrate this music in the 60th anniversary.

They recognise it's importance!

It's a pity that more music recordings don't exist any more, but that simply can't be helped.

I know people will ask why the M&E element used on the Criterion laser disc wasn't used and I can't comment on that. All I can say is that the E spoils the M on that track. Besides, for all I know, and I genuinely don't know anything about this point, Eon themselves might have had an opinion about that.

This is still the best presentation to date of one of the best and most important soundtracks in soundtrack history.

The alternate vocal version of the song sounds 1000% better than the crappy sonics version released on the Shirley Bassey EMI and Columbia Singles Collection CD.

Cheers

I've just ordered.

A nice release for the 60th anniversary. A pity that original scoring elements are lost but La La Land have done what they can for this definitive Bond score.

Goldfinger!? Who saw that one coming?

But good to see. I know at least one person who will be happy to have Newley's demo on there.

Looks like an excellent release but I'll pass on this one.

I have the previous CD and the Anthony Newley version from the 2CD James Bond 30th anniversary.

(Plus my 007 budget is being taken up by the re-release of the Corgi Aston Martin DB5 as well as the 1966 Batmobile!)

I will pass on this as immediate order (will wait for sale, sorry). I already have 2003 album+ 30th anniversary set. So paying for one new track is bit expensive. Sorry again.
Of course I understand that even if M&E elements excited it's probably EON who don't want release from not perfect elements.
But some of them have no effects at all (Bond's tricks on plane for example).

In any case, I'll buy it. But on another day.

I will pass on this release because it doesn't have any really new tracks. I have an unauthorized version with an hour of music. Can't the studios just let an audio expert extract the music from the film? Youtube is loaded with soundtrack music taken directly from the video elements.

I am glad that I can place an order in that is finally under $30.

I agree with this and the previous posters, will have to pass.

What's with that new 90 day thing where you can't buy it from any other vendor?
What's that all about?
Is it just some James Bond stipulation?

Probably.

If EON are more involved with this release rather than simply licencing them to LLL as they have in past, of course it makes sense that there is a 90 day window in which they can make money via 007store rather than let the product become available from other vendors, who invariably inflate the price and exploit those not necessarily in the know.
