I couldn't find a previous thread on this 1972 score (THIS KIND OF LOVE in English), although one probably exists somewhere. Anyways, I have a digital version of the Screen Trax version from 2000, but what I really want is the OST presentation, and program it to fit that. The first 8 tracks of this release are the same as the OST, but missing the track "Ouverture del Mattino". And after track 8, it moves into rather superflous repetitions. It's such a lovely, bittersweet, lyrical score, the type of Morricone I prefer, I want to have the best listening flow as possible. So is it possible from the remaining tracks to "recreate" the track "Ouverture del Mattino"?

You are right Thor it's a lovely bittersweet score from that early 70s period when he produced some of his best work. A shame the movie has fallen into obscurity so difficult to know how used in the film. I think the Mattino track works well in the LP programme and adds to the variety shame not on the CD, does anyone know if it's used in the film? It originally comes from the Cuori Di Mamma score.

Hey, as I now listen to CUORE DI MAMMA, I just realized I've had a track from that for years already -- on the AN ENNIO MORRICONE ANTHOLOGY 2CD set, which I got in the 90s and is one of my most important albums when it comes to steering my interest in Morricone away from the evergreens. Not the "Ouverture del Mattino" track, but "Ricreazione Divertita". Anyways, CUORE is also a fine score, so I'm glad to add it to my digital collection -- an unexpected consequence of asking about a completely different thing, for a completely different score. It's not on QUESTA's level, obviously, but I like the baroque stylings inbetween the more experimental stuff.

Ouvertue del Mattino also makes an appearance on the Cometa LP and CD of IL PIANETA DELL ACQUA (documentary), which also has a couple of lovely romantic themes. A long time since I saw it but the piece is also heard in the background (on a radio) during a scene in COPKILLER, if my memory is correct. Hi Stefan, I know I asked this before but what do you think will happen to the Cometa tapes, now that the owner has died? Just hope they are being looked after. Perhaps Beat could salvage them?

Hi Stefan, I know I asked this before but what do you think will happen to the Cometa tapes, now that the owner has died? Just hope they are being looked after. Perhaps Beat could salvage them? I have no idea what happened or will happen to all those Cometa tapes. The Cometa website doesn´t exist anymore and even on their Facebook website there has been no activity since 2017. Beat never had any relationship with Cometa so that I don´t think the tapes will be salvaged by them.

Dave, you can view the complete film here: https://noodlemagazine.com/watch/704429349_456241104 I have just checked it and apparently the "Ouverture del mattino" track doesn´t appear in the film itself. Therefore it was probably just added as filler material for the 1972 LP of QUESTA SPECIE D´AMORE - above all as nothing from CUORE DI MAMMA had ever been released at that time. In my opinion it was a quite good decision to add that track as it fits very well with the other tracks on the LP.

Thor, as Stefan and others underlined it, it was a way to fill in LPs and to make the contents more varied and entertaining. I think that Mr Enrico De Melis was especially fond of this, since it occurred on numerous General Music LPs. For instance, on the LP of LA BANQUIERE, several tracks actually stem from DER RICHTER UND SEIN HENKER, on the LP of ESPION LEVE-TOI, there is one track from LE SECRET, on the LP of LE RUFFIAN, on track was taken from LA CUGINA, etc. For the purists, the best CD reissues are of course the ones that focus on the presentation of the original material only and that omit alien tracks like the Ouverture del mattino, no matter how beautiful they are. However I can understand that the additional material proposed on these expanded releases may sound repetitive to your ears, like in the case of QUESTA SPECIA D’AMORE. It simply means that the original LP was rather well conceived.
