https://file770.com/hermann-and-hitchcock-the-torn-curtain/ "HERRMANN AND HITCHCOCK: THE TORN CURTAIN" (AN ENTIRELY NEW VISUAL PRESENTATION) Alfred Hitchcock and Bernard Herrmann each reached the zenith of their respective careers during their celebrated artistic association, inspiring the brilliant cinematic expression and triumphant realization of their collaborative productivity. Each a genius in his field, Hitchcock was "The Master of the Eloquent Absurdity," while Bernard Herrmann was its Maestro. This is the story of their rise and fall, the provocative, often torrid creativity and passion that would unite them, and ultimately tear them apart...the jagged edge of their sublime artistry that resulted in "Herrmann And Hitchcock: The Torn Curtain." https://file770.com/hermann-and-hitchcock-the-torn-curtain/ Steve Vertlieb

Oh, Steve, are you telling people this isn't the same old thing you've been posting since the Year One? Have you written new things, because it sure seems like the same thing to me. Or is it just the photos and posters that are new, as well as where it's posted.

The visual presentation is entirely new. I spent hours researching rare stills and posters. Just thought you might enjoy the new appearance is all. Steve

Yeah, but a new thread for it? Just resurrect one of the old ones (like the first one) with a new reply and edit the thread title as needed. It seem you really never say anything anymore, just make duplicate threads once in a while.

You mean new members who joined in the last six weeks? He posted this article August 19th and NINE other times prior to that, maybe more, as I got tired of counting.

As I explained earlier, the article was recently re-published with entirely new graphics, including rare foreign posters and production stills which I felt might give new life to my work, particularly for those who, perhaps, might never have seen it. I certainly meant no harm in doing so, as countless essays have been reprinted hundred of times over the years in order to reach an entirely new audience. Personally, as we are all lovers of movies and the music that accompanies them, there shouldn't be cause or room for acrimony. If you choose not to re-examine my work, you have my permission, as they say in television, to "change the channel." Personal attacks on both my character and age are misplaced, and ugly. Isn't there enough hatred in our increasingly volatile world community without like minded film students turning to sarcasm and insults? If you wish me to leave this respected community, then I shall reluctantly do so. I see no reason to remain silent while my personal character and age are attacked with petty insults. All that I ever wished to do at this forum was to share my love of films and film music. We've grown too lazy as a society to respect each other's freedom of choice and individuality. At least from my perspective, that's truly sad. We, as a vanishing community of film students, should remain a closely knit group of friends. There aren't many of us left. Am I old? Certainly. I'm pushing eighty in little more than a year. That isn't cause for ridicule in my decidedly humble opinion but, rather, cause for respect and celebration. The world has grown far too ugly for me to continue to participate within its gradually diminishing confines of kindness and civility. It isn't a state of mind or consciousness that I feel particularly comfortable in. I have never, to my knowledge, deliberately hurt or wounded another human soul. I happen to be proud of that distinction ... even if it appears old fashioned to believe in that apparently out dated philosophy. However, having said that, if I have hurt or wounded any of you with my postings, then you have my sincerest apology. Steve

Steve, I'm sure the silent majority enjoy these articles of yours. And if they're ambivalent to them, well that's okay too. What I don't get are the posts from the vocal minority who tell you to bump the old ones instead of making a new post, or those here whosee it all as attention-seeking on your part. And even if it is - so what? I certainly don't think you have to apologise for anything.

It may have been posted several times, but this is the first time I checked it. Moreover, I found it to be a very enjoyable read and the rare pics were an added bonus indeed.
