GODZILLA---Toho announced on the 70th anniversary of the original GODZILLA movie that a new Godzilla movie is underway with GODZILLA MINUS ONE writer/director Takashi Yamazaki returning. No plot details were released.
GAME OF THRONES---THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER says Warner Bros. is developing a movie based on the HBO/George RR Martin tv series, "Multiple sources describe the project as very early stage development, with no filmmaker, cast or writer yet attached. But the company is keen on exploring the idea of Westeros invading cinemas."
IT: WELCOME TO DERRY---photo released from the prequel movie starring James Remar and Madeleine Stowe.
THE LAST DRUID---Russell Crowe will star in the movie about a Celtic elder who must resurrect his warrior spirit when a Roman emperor discovers an isolated Druid stronghold in the mountains of Caledonia.
MOLEPEOPLE---Ben Mendelsohn and Anthony Ramos star in this horror movie whose plot is described as, “one man’s nightmarish descent into the abandoned tunnels beneath the streets of New York City, where a twisted society lurks.” Rob Savage (THE BOOGEYMAN) is the director.
HOUSE OF THE DEAD---Paul WS Anderson will direct the horror movie based on the video game.
LEGO---the Lego Group and Universal Pictures are developing four movies based on Lego toys of which three will be directed by Jake Kasdan, Patty Jenkins and Joe Cornish. No plot details were released.
BENDY AND THE INK MACHINE---Andre Ovredal will direct the movie based on the video game.
SUPERGIRL: WOMAN OF TOMORROW---Eve Ridley will play Ruthye Mary Knolle in the DC Studios movie.
GUNDAM---Jim Mickle (SWEET TOOTH) will direct the movie based on the anime.
TRIVIA---in 2023, researchers from the US and Peru discovered a new species of snake in the Andes Mountains in Peru, and named the species Tachymenoides harrisonfordi after Harrison Ford whose character, Indiana Jones, had a fear of snakes, and for Ford's support for conservation.
Ford quipped, “These scientists keep naming critters after me, but it’s always the ones that terrify children. I don’t understand. I spend my free time cross-stitching. I sing lullabies to my basil plants, so they won’t fear the night.“
He added, “In all seriousness, this discovery is humbling. It’s a reminder that there’s still so much to learn about our wild world — and that humans are one small part of an impossibly vast biosphere. On this planet, all fates are intertwined, and right now, one million species are teetering on the edge of oblivion. We have an existential mandate to mend our broken relationship with nature and protect the places that sustain life.”
