That Main Title is fantastic. I remember watching and taping the film/music off the telly when it was shown in the UK in the 80s. There's about 25-30 minutes of music in the film (and I have a session tape with 3 cues on, including that lovely Main Title). It's a wholly original melody that Horner never (bizarrely) reused. I love the way the music really soars, as it underscores a bi-plane crop-dusting scene (Horner once again being super inspired by flight). I always thought FSM would have gotten to this one, had they continued releasing CDs. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

it is lovely -- but he did return to that melodic territory twice that I can remember, in Testament and even more so, The Spitfire Grill.
