Apart from having some of the Zimmer score on CD, there's two things I mostly remember about this film - that I saw it on Christmas Day in 1988 on a lengthy trip to New York City (earlier in the day I saw Hellhound: Hellraiser II, and later I saw Talk Radio, because that to me is Christmas In New York), and that a few years ago I believe a screenplay surfaced for an unproduced Stanley Kubrick film of the story.

I have the cues on the "British Years" album, and they range from pretty good to annoying. I HATE watching cruddy-looking films on YouTube, but I might have to bite the dust and watch this one if it's not available elsewhere, since I'm trying to prepare myself for a future podcast about the composer's career. I recently tormented my way through an atrocious-looking copy of CAST AWAY as well (the Roeg film from the 80s, not the Zemeckis), for these purposes. There is just a suite, not cues. THE FRUIT MACHINE is also on YT. I am just glad obscure stuff is on YT. I doubt I will see this one though.

Yes, great find. Zimmer's English is flawless, by the way.

Yes, string samples are never a good idea. I guess it was state of the art in 1988 though.

Ah, INSIGNIFICANCE. I'll be writing an article about that soundtrack for Blitzed Magazine soon. I'll do one retro soundtrack review in each issue. https://blitzedmag.com/
