I have chosen to make this a separate thread to not let it drown among "the hype of the 2 bonds being released today"

We are still missing 2 Bonds for this anniversary year, so the following ramble IS JUST SPECULATIONS

We have had 5 Bond released this year

Could there be a deal that LA-LA are only to release 5 Bonds pr. year

If so, could we then see announcement last of December for releases of the last two (1969 and 1989) in January - an announcement means that it can still be labeled as this years anniversary even if it is to be released in 2025 - just look at OCTOPUSSY and LIVE AND LET DIE - announced in 2023 but released in 2024

and it also means - if there is some true to the speculation about only 5 per year - that the last three for 2025 would fit their anniversary

1965 - 1985 - 1995

Again, this is speculation but an exciting one

what do you think?

ps. i don't think SPECTRE will come even if that is anniversary also since there seem to be a focus on earlier releases

Well, as you say, it's pure speculation.

Of course, people will speculate in the absence of any actual information, but any speculations we come up with are likely wide of the mark.

Cheers

Sadly, this is the way of things nowadays. As soon as something fantastic is announced certain people always say "When are you going to release XXX". Be grateful for what we get. We have no idea the time, effort and licencing hurdles LLL have to jump to make these happen. I'm optimistic about an expanded release of Licence To Kill as we know it exists, but presumably the rights are still with MCA... see now I'm doing it :-)

Mark, can't you just bask in the glory of having your theory being proved correct, and leave future speculation aside?

True, but from a business perspective that's a good thing.

You're getting 2 James Bond expanded CD's arriving sometime in January. Given the hard work it takes to get these to our hands I consider that nothing less than fantastic.

I know we all would like to have expanded versions of Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, The Spy Who Loved Me, A View to a Kill, and Licence to Kill but given the fact that LLL records is releasing 2 Bond scores, and not just any 2 scores but two of the most sought after John Barry scores in the world, I would say we are considered very fortunate.

Two falling in 2024 were an accident. I don't think LLL intended Live and Let Die and Octopussy to push to this year. I am ecstatic that we got THREE, when I honestly only expected Goldfinger and would have been happy with such. I don't own my own record label and am patent to the ones that do.

There are plenty of Bond films to work on over the next five years and beyond, and plenty of anniversary dates. Our wallets will appreciate the breaks.

I am sure many here did a shot of something strong in celebration that finally "The Moonraker tapes are lost" can be put to bed.

Congrats everyone, today, everyone wins.

As I mentioned in the other thread my speculation (whishfull thinking is):

This year is not ended yet, and the fact that (i) LLL has not mentioned that Mooraker and TMWTGG is their final batch of the year (ii) Moonraker is a first "5th" anniversary since their new Bond releases started...
Gave me new hope that we might receive a final "Christmass present" from LLL with the anouncement of LTK 35th and OHMSS 55th anniversaries this year, that, like Octopussy and LALD, would ship early next year.

And on 2025 we'll (hopefully) get AVTAK 40th (another grail - in need of improved sound and much great music missing), Thunderball 60th and Godeneye 30th (not essential but nice to have).

Then 2026 would bring For Your Eyes Only 45th (and hopefully TSWLM and TLD as I don't want to wait till 2027 for those).

Of course I can

I'll bask in glory with my 3 UNFINISHED MIDI-FILES transcription (from cd to sheet score) from years ago
