Ironically, my favorite cue from that favorite of mine film score has not ever been released to this day (where otherwise it seems "everything and the kitchen sink" has been released) on any official release of the original soundtrack recording: the actual main title.
Vangelis did sort of release the actual main titles on his compilation Vangelis: The Collection.
However, before it completely plays-out, it segues into the dialog version of the main title from the soundtrack album, so it isn't particularly satisfactory.
The sound isn't the best either -- I suspect it was ripped the film itself.
Michael Land: The Dig (game score) Abigail Mead (Viviane Kubrick): Full Metal Jacket - only 20 min of score on CD David Shire: 2010 David Storres: Invaders from Mars
Well I have to go with posting my top 5 favorite synth sounding scores. Because I really don't know which scores are truly synth or a mix of synth and traditional instruments.
Ah, you mean like Hoosiers, among others mentioned here?
