I'm surprised it's never been released on Blu-Ray, since an HD master exists, whichever cut it may be.

In the current disc market, a 55-year-old musical that flopped in its day has a limited audience. The best hope probably lies with Kino Lorber or some overseas outfit like Imprint.

Paramount was late to the game with catalog Blu-Rays, but they've been releasing a ton over the last few years, including films a lot more niche than this, and they've licensed a ton of titles to KL too recently. I'm hopeful that KL will get it at some point, since an HD master clearly exists.

I hope a bluray version includes the theatrical version because the dvd has a lot of scenes that were deleted.

One of the few cases where the director wanted a shorter film than the studio.

I've just received and listened to the new 'Darling Lili' set. I'm most interested in Mancini underscore - as his pop re-recordings are so abundant and have always been fairly easy to obtain. I have a question for those more astute than I.

On disc two of the new set, are tracks 13-25 (the 'instrumental versions') actually in the film? Are they as someone postulated merely the vocal tracks minus the vocals? Or do they constitute more underscore? Or are they something else? Any clarification would be appreciated.

Thanks.

They are the instrumental backing tracks for the songs, minus the vocals, and they are in the film. The liner notes include a suggested alternate program if you wish to integrate these tracks with the underscore on Disc 1 in approximate film order.

I have the DARLING LILI soundtrack from the 2014 Sony "Henry Mancini-The classic Soundtrack Collection" cd set.

How does Quartet's new remastered DARLING LILI audio quality compare to the 2014 Sony cd sound quality?

Right! Thanks. I'll do that.
