With all the excitement concerning the release of the Bond and Mancini scores, this seems to have slipped under the radar. It's an excellent re-recording of Morricone's masterpiece. It's hard to find fault with it really. I'm not usually a fan of these recordings, but this one is excellent. Top clasd effort by everyone involved in this, you've made this Morricone fan very happy.

Cool, nice to hear. I am waiting for my order to arrive from Music Box Records (in addition to Once Upon a Time in America re-recording). Shipping has been delayed because of Spiderman 2 which was delayed by LLL.

I imagine you’re talking about this: https://zamusica.com/produzioni.php?itemID=371

No re-recording could ever do a Morricone score justice, especially one from this period.

I don't see the point, myself, when the original is available.

Not going to replace the original soundtracks in my collection. They're just different takes recorded with modern technology. I have also Conan the Barbarian, Conan the Destroyer and Jaws re-recordings in addition to several original soundtrack releases (probably all of them). I read from somewhere that Basil Poledouris was planning to re-record his Big Wednesday score, but sadly that didn't happen.

Stephen Woolston opened a thread about the more recent releases from the Solisti & Orchestra Del Cinema Italiano:

Pretty vague title there. Thread link above does reveal how bizarre this release really is, though! What’s the point??
