I know this seems to be a bit rude of me, throwing down three scores in one year (Thelma The Unicorn, Wicked and That Christmas) after being rather lazy for a while, but it continues. Just after I finished Wicked, some friends of mine, Will Hawkes and Darwin Shaw had a wonderful short live action film called The Last Ranger that needed a little help with music. It’s a fantastic drama about the people who look out for Rhinos in South Africa and the people who are involved in their downfall. Darwin and Will had collected together some wonderful music from various South African musicians and a great youth choir. All this material really felt like it could work as a score but needed a bit of glue to stick it to the story, so for a few weeks I opened back up me’ tool bag and got a bit sticky smile
