Hey you nutmegs! This is peak late-'70s Mellé, incorporating just about everything that was great about the composer. Don't watch the film though. If you thought that Jerry Goldsmith wrote great music for terrible films, well, yes, he did. But in this particular case the film is Minus 1 billion out of 10, whereas the score gets an unbeatable 10 out of 10.

Is it worse than Starship Invasions?

It's not even half as funny as STARSHIP INVASIONS. STARSHIP INVASIONS has laser gun battles, flying saucers, daft robots and Christopher Lee running around in leotards and a very silly hat. AMAZON WOMEN only has Amazon women in bikinis. And even with Amazon women in bikinis, it still rates Minus a billion out of 10.

I like Amazon women in bikinis!!
How can that be bad?
Surely Amazon women in bikinis are sexy...no?

I'm not so sure, Kev. It looks like the main bikini clad beauty is packing more than arrows in her quiver. And the one on the right has a 'tache.

The images are not showing up because Ford is improperly coding. When clicked on, the "Special Code Legend" text to the left of the text box tells you how to do that and other little things.

Some folks are simply getting lucky and have browsers bypassing the error and force-displaying the images.

Justin, I don't know what you are talking about, but I've looked at these on both a PC with Firefox and a MAC with CROME and Safari, and guess what? They show up with no problem.

I suspect the issue might be with your browsers.

Whatever the case, enjoy the CD.

The issue seems to be an adblocker (in my case uBlock, no idea if it's the same for others) blocking it. The culprit is something called 'viglink.com'.

Ford, like I said, some people are getting lucky and their browsers are bypassing it and force-displaying the images. Even different versions of browsers can do this.

But if you look at FSM's "Special Code Legend", you will see how to properly link to and display an image.

What you have wrapped in the image BBS code is not an image, it's is a TinyURL, which re-directs to an image. IMG BBS code does not display non image URL's.

It's bad coding.

Only Fords posts are like this. It's all you need to know.

Nah, some other members were guilty of this, including ex member Last Child.

But it's not a blame game, just trying to help Ford and others code correctly.

I did a nutty thing. Despite initially deciding against getting this direct from BSX in order to avoid the arbitrary customs duty "surprise" (I ordered it from Music Box instead), last night I was reminded that I was due a small discount for buying the previous Mellés from BSX. It didn't amount to much, but I like these little gestures that Ford and his team do (I got a free download of something of my choice too before Christmas).

Anyway, I was hit with "Friday night Mellé fever" and I went ahead and ordered it, along with the Broughton. And of course I had immediate access to the music via the downloads. Now this is one of those films which I captured on video ages ago and then tried to capture the best bits of the score on cassette tape, with the minimal amount of sound effects possible. It sounded terrible of course, but the music was thrilling nonetheless. And so I kind of "knew" what I was getting. But not quite. I didn't want to spoil the "physical CD virgin deflowering" by playing all the tracks, but I listened to the first two, and it sounds SPECTACULAR! I wonder if I can resist playing the rest of it before the CD arrives. It only takes a moment of weakness...

That should read "before the CDs (plural) arrive", because I'm getting one from Music Box too.

Am I completely off my rocker?

I listened to that score everyday since January 9… very addictive… very hypnotic…
Yesterday, I was driving at night under the rain to attend a diner in a remote village, the sound of Gold of the Amazon Women was loud and clear.

Not at all! I did the same thing with so many tv and movie scores in the 70s and 80s smile

You are a braver man then I am, play that score in the car could be very dangerous...

:-)

I'm glad you are enjoying the score.
