Veterans here know that The Miklós Rózsa Society has been around since 1971. Page Cook, Mark Koldys, and Ken Doeckel were early participants. We published a newsletter/journal for 40 years. (The issues are digitally archived on the MRS website.) Since 2012 the focus has shifted to that website (www.miklosrozsa.org) and associated discussion forum (www.tapatalk.com/groups/miklosrozsa/). The site was created for us by the film scholar Matthew Gear and has been chiefly developed and sustained by an unsung hero, Hank Verryt of the Netherlands. In addition to Hank and myself (John Fitzpatrick), our present crew includes U.K. administrator Alan Hamer, expert annotator Frank K. DeWald, Soundtrack! magazine veteran Doug Raynes, and correspondent Marco Ubaldi in Rome. Unsurprisingly, most of us are now upper-division septuagenarians. Prudence dictates that we provide for the future. Websites do not run themselves. We’d love to hear from some younger web-savvy people interested in working with us on site development and sustainability. If you’d like to get involved, please contact rozsaphile@earthlink.net.
