I couldn't find a thread for this, but I see some screenings in the coming days:

https://www.hanszimmerfilm.com/

Is this going to be released on media after the screenings? I'm thinking about checking out the film next weekend.

It has two theatrical screenings here in Norway next week. I'm introducing both of them. I don't know about the rest of the country.

Yes, I'll give a 10-minute intro for the two screenings at a venue called Vega Scene in Oslo.

From the link you posted, I see that the film is also screened three other places in Norway -- two other venues in Oslo (including IMAX) and one in the city of Drammen. I think that's about it? So very limited indeed.

Seeing this on Wednesday. Super excited. It got some great reviews and looks amazing!

That said...

I know the concert will be chopped up to include interviews, talks etc in between. And some of the performances isnt from the actual tour show which will probably look amazing on the big screen. But I hope that when/if it gets a physical release there will be an option to just watch the show without being interrupted. And maybe the complete original show cause I really want to watch Interstellar from the tour (I understand its not from the tour in this film). The stage setup and the whole arena looked amazing during this performance on the tour. Hopefully they will at least add the original performances as extras or something.

I am seeing this next Sunday the 23rd at my local Cinemark theater. Didn't get to go see the tour, so this is the next best thing I guess!

Ah, so we won’t meet after all. But bigger screen, bigger sound. You probably made the right decision.

Just watched this MAGNIFICENT experience. It was epic in every way. I've seen Hans Zimmer live in LA about nine years ago. Seeing this in the theater was electrifying. Absolutely stunning spiritual experience. The guitar solo new to Man of Steel blew my mind. Interstellar's Murph playing along with the circular wide lens shot was meditative. Lisa Gerard performing on Gladiator with Hans wearing an Arabic Hatta in the desert brought me to tears. It was beyond my expectations. Must see. Also, the Dark Knight was electrifying. This has been (partly) the soundtrack of my life for the past 30 years.

It was an uneven film, IMO.

Some good things:

- the visuals were spectacular (loved the INTERSTELLAR segment, in particular - and the various Dubai backdrops, like the desert for DUNE or the city for the THE DARK KNIGHT....even though I don't like the city as a travel destination, I was there in 2010)
- Lisa Gerrard was goosebump-inducing
- I do like some of the pieces being performed, although I'm mostly a fan of his 1988-2003 period
- It's a good idea to have laidback, b/w conversations inbetween the bombastic, spectacular music performances, as nice "ear breaks"

BUT, I have issues:

- the film was about an hour too long
- the conversations were endless, mutual ass-kissing fests that made me cringe, very little in the way of natural conversation
- I'm not a fan of the concert arrangements. They're noisy overkills. I wish he had performed the cues closer to their original, leaner album versions. The INTERSTELLAR addition of vocals and electric guitar feel particularly unnecessary for a score that is so powerful in its original organ+synths version. Wish they used the 2017 concert versions instead
- too much post-millennium stuff in general

In many ways, it echoes my misgivings about his 2022 concert series compared to the far superior 2017 concert series.

My dream scenario for a Zimmer concert or concert film -- an intimate venue, just Zimmer and a couple of guys on-stage, mostly using synths and some solo performers, focus being primarily on that aforementioned period (80s up to 2003-ish at the latest), with lean versions of things like GREEN CARD, BEYOND RANGOON, RAIN MAN, K2, POINT OF NO RETURN etc. THEN we'd be talking. THEN this would probably be a 5 out of 5 experience for me.

That's why I much prefer his "The World of Hans Zimmer" concerts. The arrangements are much closer to the original ones and the overall experience is more of my taste even though Zimmer himself is only present on the big screen in between the musical numbers.

I'm well aware of that series, but don't believe I've ever seen one. The non-involvement of Zimmer has made it kinda apropos to me. But thanks for the suggestion!

I already thought the brief interview snippets posted on social media where very cringe and made me not want to see the film anymore. I've also realised quite some time ago that similar to Tarantino, I like (most of) the man's work but find him quite insufferable as a person.

I saw both the 2017 as well as the 2022 shows and agree that the 2017 was a better and more diverse show.
