Unlawful Entry is comfort food for anyone who likes Horner.
Its pretty much one of his brooding suspense scores with occasional bursts of action (i.e. Aliens) but played on synths (but don't get me wrong...not nearly as good as Aliens). It's got a lovely main theme (played on an EWI) and a bunch of interesting ideas. I think this one got bad word of mouth years ago because it was harsh and unrefined in an era when Horner was anything but. Yet I find myself coming back to it rather often.
I'd never label it as the best of Horner, but, for $10, I'd recommend it to anyone who likes him, especially if you enjoyed the darker moments of something like The Chumscrubber. Much better than something like Jack the Bear, which exists in a similar vein but has moments that sound so laughably cheap and shoddily thrown together its hard to take seriously. Unlawful Entry is easy to take seriously, but it can be harsh.

You definitely need the Cobra Kai albums too, though. Get on that while you can! I love them even more than the original Conti scores.

Thanks. I nabbed Karate Kid II via FSM Sale since the current sets are out of stock. I haven't seen Cobra Kai as yet but my 10 year old son is a big fan!!
Believe me after you see Cobra Kai you'll want the soundtrack albums. Better to nab them while they are still available, if you can. Season 2 might still be affordable second hand (it's also my least favorite album of the six season albums, to be honest).
