I have to admit I've given this a fair chance (in fact several fair chances) over the years, but the 15 minutes on the original songtrack never ignited me much. I'd be willing to give it another chance.
The Shirley Walker years. Big orchestral boost from some stellar collaborators there. Don't know about 3 CDs worth of GLADIATOR, but this one is more in my wheelhouse. What was the deal with Jay Rifkin again? BIG falling out with Zimmer wasn't there?
My last significant holy grail. No foolin'. Thank you so much Intrada!
I thought "Volunteers" by Horner was my last holy grail, but seeing the release of this badly-needed expansion makes me realize that it is my next-to-last holy grail.
Thanks, Intrada. This is a fabulous score. A---oh, what's the term?---grand slam, if you will.
I'm so happy for this one! The little bit we got on the earlier soundtrack release was good but not enough! I wish that Madonna's THIS USED TO BE MY PLAYGROUND (Film Version) was included as well but I'm sure that it won't be since it wasn't even on the first soundtrack release.
A great score from Mr Zimmer, his collaboration with Shirley Walker was positively productive and effective. Next could be TOYS ? lots of unreleased music and alternates !
