Hello again,
There’s a film from Iran called Shab Shekan 1983 ("The Night Breaker") that uses pre-existing music, most likely copied from foreign films — a common practice in older Iranian cinema.
One of the pieces used in the film sounds like it might come from a French film, but I haven’t been able to identify it.
Has anyone heard this melody before or can recognize it?
Any information about the composer, film source, or original track would be greatly appreciated.

an Iranian film called Shab Shekan (1983) ("The Night Breaker"), where two pieces of music can be heard — one at 38:18 and another at 1:01:18.
I’ve tried to remove the background noise so the music is clearer.
To me, both pieces sound like they might be French.
Please have a listen and let me know what you think.

I'm not sure why there hasn't been much response to these two pieces — I was really hoping for some input.
I'd truly appreciate it if you could share your thoughts on the style and genre of the music.
Surely, some of you have listened to French electronic or film music before.
To me, these cues sound like they're from a French film score, though I'm not sure from which decade.
I’d be very grateful for any guidance or insight.

The clips are fine — I’ve checked them.
Feel free to give them a listen.

It sounds a bit like some François de Roubaix music. But I have no idea where it comes from.

Well, they don't work for me. This is what meets me when I click the links:

But apparently, it's just me.

The links do work here but I really can't tell. Like Oddelay said, it sounds a bit like De Roubaix although I wouldn't say so for the second excerpt. Could be someone like Eric Demarsan or Maurice Lecoeur but I've really no idea. Anyway thanks for asking since the 1st excerpt is really excellent.

Thank you very much for your input — I really appreciate it.
But it’s a bit difficult at this point; I feel I need to first be sure which French composer this piece might resemble.
I truly hope someone out there has heard this melody before and can recognize it — even a small clue could help guide me toward the original track.

It might have some similarities, but I haven’t come across anything quite like this from them.
Identifying the melody is a bit difficult.

This one is not familiar at all I'm afraid. It is not François de Roubaix or I doubt it is from any of the composers discussed on this board.

I have a feeling it might be by a French composer, but I haven’t found any concrete leads yet.
That’s why I truly appreciate any input — with more collaboration, I hope to identify the composer and trace the original film score this music belongs to.

It seems there hasn’t been much participation so far.
If anyone here has knowledge or familiarity with French film music in an electronic style from the 1970s, I’d really appreciate your help in identifying these tracks.
Any input would be valuable — even a small clue could make a big difference.

Given that less than 5% of this board has an interest in French film music, and maybe only 4-5 members like myself have a complete LP/CD collection from that time, I wouldn't expect a hint. I mean there are not many French synth scores from before 1983 that have been released so far, and even less that were relased on LP in 1983. A few B-movies from Daniel White and others have similar synth scores, but again I don't think it is one of those.

I am not familiar with French music libraries, however, so maybe it is one of those LPs.

It might have been released on LP, but what really matters is identifying the piece.
I'm quite certain it's from a French film from the 1970s — the style doesn't match anything from the 1980s.
The Iranian film that used this music clearly sourced it from a pre-1980s score.

Any help in identifying it would be greatly appreciated.

And then you'll just present us with another one?
Can we have the 3rd Mystery Theme question please?

They could just post all their links at once. Let us decide which ones we know, at our leisure.

Haven’t you been taught how to speak respectfully to a woman?
Besides, I didn’t even ask anything of you to begin with — so there’s no reason for your frustration.
Please learn to respect other people’s requests.

There was NO disrespect in anything I wrote. Please re-read it.
And yes, I was taught to respect folks, REGARDLESS of sex or creed.
What does you being a woman have to do with the tunes you can't identify?
