Ehhh, dozens of scores have been awaiting release for ages, and here is another 17th-something release of the same title...
Because it keeps selling. Intrada’s previous edition was done back in 2010 before some restoration tech improvements happened a few years later. I’m intrigued to hear what can be improved.
Maybe with the Chris Malone mastered and Neil S Bulk edited Quartet LP as an alternate presentation ? Can't wait vor this revisiting my favorite Jerry Goldsmith score ever...and enhance my collection.

It sells and it keeps paying for other releases by the label, so what? And still, the re-issue of a re-issue still has more potential than 90% of the new scores.
It's also an important title in the history of the Intrada label. The last 2CD set was released during Intrada's 25th Anniversary. Now this new FIRST BLOOD album celebrates their 40th. Very exciting news and a great reissue from a great label!
Maybe it's nice to keep the classics in print so that new fans can purchase a copy? Or for fans that missed the last issue?
Not all things are meant for you.
This exactly. The total disregard for new fans or people who might have missed this release in the past is flabbergasting. smh.
I hope those that didn't get this the first time around finally get to hear this masterpiece in its fully remastered glory! Thank you, Intrada!

not to mention there was a speed issue with the previous release which was slightly faster than the original master in the film and pitched up too. This master should fix that.
I’ve been championing and hoping this got another release from better sourcing to eliminate a lot of the tape hiss on the prior release. If so will happily quadruple dip for my favorite Goldsmith score!

If I had to guess it’s because Intrada was still selling First Blood and part 2 on CD and they didn’t want to directly compete with them on the same titles so they only released on vinyl. From what I recall no two labels have the same title available at once, only when the previous version is out of stock(except for some FSM titles)
