After their first successful collaboration on BLACK RAIN, director Ridley Scott called upon composer Hans Zimmer once again to score what would become the beloved classic feminist drama/road adventure THELMA & LOUISE. Enthralled by the notion of composing his take on an Americana score, Maestro Zimmer dove into the challenge, fashioning a sonic wonder that takes the audience on a road trip from the Deep South to the Open West, all the while expertly charting an emotional throughline for the complex lead characters. Tinged with blues and Cajun stylings, and featuring legendary master guitarist Pete Haycock’s signature performance skills, Zimmer’s score balances character, drama, action and location with perfect pitch – as brilliantly demonstrated within this newly remastered deluxe re-issue, expanded with more music beyond any of the film’s previous soundtrack releases. Produced by Stéphane Humez and remixed, mastered and edited by Maxime Marion from MGM vault elements, under the supervision of Hans Zimmer, this special limited edition CD release of 1500 units showcases the score as initially written by the composer, as well as alternate and film version bonus tracks, including a 2000 concert suite demo. The exclusive in-depth liner notes are by writer and journalist Kaya Savas, featuring a new interview with the composer. The sharp art design is by Dan Goldwasser. TRACK LISTING: THE SCORE 1. of course they do 20% off after i purchased 4 of the 007 scores 2 weeks ago (( Unless there's something really urgent (The Reivers) or something I feel like supporting at full price (Oliver Nelson twofer, Goldsmith expansions), I often wait until the 1st of the month for "catalogue titles" to see whether LLL is going to have a sale. Oh, heck yeah! I have been planning and biding my time. I have titles that need ordering. I'm rather confused that the new "Thelma Louise" release is included in sale, yet "Gladiator" is not.

Probably because Gladiator is selling like hotcakes still at full price, never really having been expanded before. Thema and Louise is more of a slight expansion, tweaking and improving earlier editions just like LLL's Rain Man, but not featuring nearly as much previously unreleased music. Yavar

I'll be getting this to accompany the Thelma & Louise video from Criterion. It was the first score where I was aware as the movie was beginning that Hans Zimmer composed it, and it's the only Zimmer score I like as a musical experience. I wouldn't have thought of Zimmer's score as good Americana at the time, but with repeated viewings it grew on me. It gives the law enforcement parts of the movie better weight. I'm buying the new album as a memento of all the good times I've had watching the movie.

I'll stick with my Kritzerland version. Me too. I do believe we had the complete score on ours. My fondest memory of being the first to issue that title is everyone warning me Hans never wanted it released and he'd come after me. He didn't. It was a pretty quick sellout as I recall.
