Good points, nuts.
Totally agree with you regarding Lawrence and previous gigs (I Am Legend was especially poor) and more so about what Darabont might have done with the gruelling material.
Hopefully Fraites can go the distance.

I don't know if Thor's taking the piss or not, but if that Boingo/Budweiser story is true, it's fkn ace.

So the problem is: Why doesn‘t this disgustingly rich JNH score this film?

If you say so.
I was just wondering why the obviously not poor JNH has stopped working with some long term collaborators and is sticking with Netflix and Disney money.
And btw, his (JNH) net worth is $50 million.

As much as I love this novel, and this is absolutely a banger from King/Bachman, I don't think this is in the best hands.

I just wanted to say that I also loved this King/Bachman novel. It should make a great movie. I don't know this composer. I just hope that the movie is well-made and honors the novel.

I did like the look of it from the trailer and will go and see it.

Just for curiosity‘s sake: where did you get that number?

-----------------------------
There's a website called Celebrity Net Worth.
I just typed in his name.
And we must not forget, when Danny Elfman had to pull out of scoring THE HUNGER GAMES and JNH stepped in, his first response about the news was the rather crass 'Kerrr-ching'
But maybe he didn't mean it was all about the money, and was speaking artistically.

I'm sure JNH isn't strapped for cash but I don't think some random website is a very trustworthy source lol

Are you kidding!
That's how most people get their 'facts' these days.

Wrong! You can find out all sorts of accurate information about James Newton Howard on the internet!

For instance, he's 5'5" and 187 lbs.

You'll also be interested to know that he's 6'0" and 150 lbs.

Sadly, Wikifeet does not have any information about his shoe size. Lame!

I saw James Newton Howard at my local Dave & Busters one time. He was counting stacks of cash at his table. I couldn't help but notice his style, especially the shoes. If I was making an educated guess based upon my memory of this event when I saw JNH counting money at Dave & Busters, I would say his shoe size is a US size 14. He's a normal rich guy, maybe between 5'5" and 6', 150 lbs to 187 lbs, but he had enormous feet. I'll have to update the feet wiki based upon this knowledge.

Maybe my butler Forbes will know?
"Forbes, Darling, how much has that James Newton Howard fellow got squirreled away?"

JNH is on his third marriage, so he may not be flush with cash, but then again, he also wrote the theme to ER, which doesn't hurt.

But there are plenty of reasons to not be able to do a movie - scheduling is a huge one - sometimes you take a gig before a movie starts production, then the movie gets pushed, or the director gets replaced, or YES, the offer comes in and you're like "Nah..." I didn't want to do it that excited about it anyway....
