I'll go fist as I've been listening to and loving both it and it's "Sketches" album...

Yes, probably this one. Or Wonder Woman 1984.

Easily TERMINAL EXPOSURE (1987).

Terminal Exposure is a better film than WW84, easily... lol

Nah. I've only seen WW84 once, but even as someone tired of superhero stuff, it had infinitely more quality.

not that the scores are particularly great, but something like... comes to mind.

The Holiday
Something's Gotta Give
It's Complicated
Days of Thunder

Dark Phoenix is a great candidate for a shitty score for equally shitty movie, but that's another topic.

Thunderbirds, although he's no Barry Gray, "Thunderize" is good.

Maybe it is a matter of taste but The Holiday is one of Zimmer's best works of that period. And maybe my personal preference but Days of Thunder is such a thrilling score. All of these films are quite good as well, especially compared to some of the others mentioned here.

THIS IS WHAT THE THREAD TOPIC IS EXACTLY ABOUT... how do you consider that "another topic?" eek

No it isn't. It's about good scores to bad movies. Not bad scores to bad movies.

You know what? I had a brain fart. I had completely missed Lokutus shitting on Dark Phoenix as a score (I strongly disagree with that). I appreciate you catching my foul!

Agreed! It's a cool John Badham actioner. Plus musically it introduces so many of Zimmer's eventual tics and bravado that won't get praised by folks until Gladiator and the Pirates films.

My entry is The Peacemaker. Gosh I love this score. I've seen the film twice and I just don't think anything about it works. A miserable debut for Mimi Leder.

Oh, we're doing the caps lock thing? Well, alright then...

THIS THREAD IS ABOUT SINGING PRAISE TO GREAT SCORES FOR BAD MOVIES!!!

So saying "not that the scores are particularly great" isn't really praising something. Then again, this doesn't surprise anyone I guess. I doubt you would be able to say something genuinely positive even if your life depended on it.
