Okay - just posting with my gut here as I was burned some year ago buying knock off soundtrack reproductions from eBay.
I'd bought a copy of VSD's Ghostbusters with a typo, a FSM Knight Rider in too good to be true condition, and a copy of John Barry's the Deep as well. I've also gotten some Wendy Carlos CDs which are suspect, along with the original Jablonsky Transformers the movie.
A few low feedback sellers are just selling a couple rare OOP OSTs or other albums - which they some how have found stock of. Copies of Battlestar Galactica Intrada (P1 and P4) have been selling for months.
Today I noticed similar sellers offers copies of (P2 and P3), and Intrada's IT - also the OOP Vince Dicola Transformers album.
Just wanted to give FSM'ers here a heads up to be vigilant and cautious:
Honestly, I thought this thread was going to be ab out CD's smelling, and that we have reached a point where we were now sniffing out CD's. Thankfully, not.
That's what I call our "pain/curse" etc. I, you or that guy wants something OOP. But we're not enough for our beloved labels to do another batch. Because for labels doing repressing for some titles you mentioned will not be profitable (you remember what Roger said about Lifeforce? - they sold 36 copies within the year; yes, they still can print another 500 copies but will seat on them for next 10 years, so it's sold out now and I'm not sure if it will be in-print again in 5-10-15-20 years). And the only way to get it - ebay. Which started using "home-made CDs", which are mimic for real one. And that's sad.
