I'm immense grateful to have the actual lyrics, thank you again! :-) Apparently you are sitting at the source...Do you see any chance for a release of the Horner score on CD?

Andreas

Unfortunately the chances of that are extremely slim because the rights to the score are with Swarovski (the famous crystal company who formed an entertainment division to produce and help finance the film)

Not only did they lose money on the film due to its box office failure, but the amount of money spent on a score they ultimately did not use resulted in a refusal to license the music to any label that isn’t willing to pay the total cost spent to produce it. Perhaps one day they will be more inclined to negotiate for a more reasonable deal with one of the labels but they have indeed tried in the past, but Swarovski held firm.

Oh, that‘s too bad :-( But many thanks for your quick and detailed reply!

It's almost like James had seen this post from above and finally just called out, "Please someone, help these guys!"

I think the lines that were the hardest for me to hear were:

"Good fortune follows WHERE" It really sounds to me like she's saying "slow" or an "oh" sounding word. And "Until the grey-cloaked morn" Both of those were really baffling me.

Again, SymphonicCanvas, thank you SO much!.

I’m not James, but you’re welcome wink

When I saw this we had a discussion about whether to step in and confirm the lyrics or just let it all play out, because in all honesty it was fun to see the engagement between you two as you worked through deciphering what the actual lyrics were.

When we made the two Romeo & Juliet video sequences for the “Balcony” scene and the introduction of Juliet, we wanted to continue from there to reveal the ins and outs of the overall production where appropriate, and this lyric thread allowed us to show a little more as an Easter egg of sorts.

I saw your impressive score restoration video sequence of on YouTube „Plans for love and feast“. If i am not wrong, this music track is not contained in the ca. 69 min. score you can hear in the YouTube video with the „complete“ score. Do you have access to the complete tapes? If yes, how long is the James Horner score in total? The sound of the 69 min. video is rather bad comparatively, in your restoration video much better, if I hear right. Is there another source available with the score in better sound? Thanks in advance for a reply :-)

Symphonic Canvas is our new branding, and on the YouTube page we've got the two videos for the film, and one for the unused James Horner Universal Pictures logos from 1996, that ultimately went with Jerry Goldsmith's idea.

For that cue, "Plans for Love and Feast" we used the original length version which is similar to the one in that leak, but the leak was shorter since the piano pattern at the end was cut down.

We do indeed have the full multitrack masters of the score, which was recorded in 48kHz, 24-Bit audio.

The music in that leak was not entirely Horner's original approach, but a mixture of his initial take on the score and additional music recorded late in the production, concurrent with Abel Korzeniowski's replacement!

Horner wrote a score and song that totaled roughly 70 minutes with changes he made a few months later that were only 4 more minutes.

Late in the process his team assembled roughly 30 minutes of additional music meant to replace and supplement the initial score.

Oh, that's very interesting! Thank you very much for all the informations! What would I give for a copy of the complete score in good sound. The sound in the leak on Youtube is so horrible sadly...
