We are thrilled to announce that on June 11 at noon Los Angeles time, we will unveil our next exciting batch of releases. This collection will feature both physical CDs and one exclusive digital release, and we're giving you a sneak peek of what to expect.
Our first title takes us back to the whimsical realm of a satirical and somewhat eccentric film from the early 1970s. This film's soundtrack was previously available as an album, but it was a re-recording rather than the original score. For this new two-CD set, we not only include that album but have also unearthed the original soundtrack recording, offering fans a chance to experience the music as it was intended. This comprehensive edition promises to transport listeners straight back to the vibrant 1970s and marks the inaugural appearance of this distinctive composer on Dragon's Domain.
Next up is an intriguing project hailing from the 1970s—specifically, a TV movie conceived as a pilot for a television series that, sadly, never came to fruition. In our meticulous search, we have uncovered the entire score, which has now been expertly arranged in a more cohesive order that reflects the narrative flow of this rarely seen gem. The score comes from a well-regarded composer with whom we’ve collaborated several times in the past, bringing a touch of nostalgia for our dedicated followers.
Our third title represents a fascinating find: it consists of a rejected film score from a talented composer who has sadly passed away. This delicate and charming work dates back to the early 1980s, and we recently discovered a treasure trove of original recordings preserved in the composer’s archives. For this release, we are excited to present all of the original materials that were composed but ultimately left unused for the project. Although it captures a distinctly George Delerue feel, we assure you it is not his work, making it a unique addition to our catalog.
Returning once more to the 1970s, our next release showcases the haunting score of a moody Gothic thriller. This score has seen several iterations on both LP and CD, but we have meticulously gathered all existing materials to offer you the definitive edition. Fans of atmospheric film music will not want to miss this comprehensive presentation.
Finally, our digital release this month is an original score from one of our favorite composers for a gripping and disturbing TV movie that aired in the early 1980s, based on real events. This dark and brutal crime drama allows the composer to return to his roots, evoking the low-budget crime tales of the 1950s. Although this release is not particularly lengthy, it beautifully highlights the composer’s extraordinary talent and deserves recognition alongside his other works. We are also excited to include a digital booklet packed with notes about both the composer and the project.
We hope you’ll join us to explore these remarkable offerings. We think you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
All of these sound like fascinating exciting projects, especially the new tape sources. Even if one or more of these doesn't get me, it's still wonderful work.
Now, being I created and run Rejected Film Scores, I decided to take a look under REJECTED from 1980 to 1989 to try and identify the rejected score. I am also looking under UN-USED, incase the distinction isn't made for this release.
While looking for #2-candidates I stumbled over a 1974 pilot for WONDER WOMAN starring Cathy Lee Crosby !! Composer was Artie Butler so it can't be it but, man, would love to have it
Follow up: There was some crazy stuff done back then like BAFFLED with Leonard Nimoy or MADAME SIN with Betty Davis.
(This isn't even all of the 70s titles put out by various labels in the past few years, just stuff off the top of my head. If I expanded to more non-US titles from France or Italy, there would be a ton more Morricone and Delerue and such to mention from Quartet and Music Box.)

Alas they underestimated the demand for the CD edition and it sold out in a matter of weeks... but at least there's a lossless digital download still available. Dragon's Domain is tackling some worthy music which might not otherwise ever be released... I'm just saying let's not erase the other guys also putting out good stuff from the 1970s (and sometimes even earlier decades!)
Considering there were two Lalo Schifrin releases recently, could the pilot film for an unrealized TV series be Earth II? Has any of Schifrin's score been released before?
