What an under-the-radar gem of a score this is. Although I havent seen the film, I "sense" a deeply psychological approach here. It's quite varied, with bucolic pastoral passages, intimate "innocent" themes (the music box in Track 1, later developed), the inevitable DUM DUM DUM DUM and tone pyramids... but it never stays in the same place for very long. In a way it reminds me of Jerry Fielding, not in the overall sound, but in the effect. We "know" there's something afoot, below the surface. I really like the way DDR has the habit of joining shorter cues. It all flows really well here. But I wonder if some cues got mislabeled in the process. Schiffy I think hinted at a possible anomaly - one of the more jolly, boisterous cues matches with "Attempted Rape" in the track titles. I love Leonard Rosenman. Even in this thing that few people have heard of, there's an almost cosmic beauty to some of it. It may be an intimate drama, but the cosmic beauty is almost terrifying.

This is a very nice release! The lyrical side of Rosenman really shines through here. Yes, there is some of his action music, too, complete with the usual pyramids. You wouldn't confuse this with any other composer's work (which, to me, is a good thing). But a lot of this is also quite lovely. And it has the warmest, most adventurous cue ever titled "Attempted Rape / Mother’s Death"! So glad this finally came out. Well, I'm glad you enjoyed this one. This is something we have wanted to do for many years. It is worth mentioning that this score is the kind of film that he enjoyed doing, and it shows. I'm glad the rest of you are enjoying it as well Ford A. Thaxton
