Sounds great, and looks to be expanded from previous releases, but doesn't specify what and where in the BSX listing. Can you fill us in? Did you collaborate with those guys who bought the Herrmann estate rights but have been awol for several years?

Correctly sequenced and with track titles! At last!

We worked with Mr. Lasher Brian Satterwhite and our mastering engineer, James Nelson, who were invaluable in reviving this particular title and ensuring it is as complete as possible. The arrangement follows the order of the music as it appears in the current version of the film.

I believe this is the best-sounding version available to date.

This is a tricky question. There were two Label X CD releases of this score with different contents. In 1994, there was this one, which ran 38:21…

1. Scene One (06:04)
2. Scene Two (03:42)
3. Scene Three (06:40)
4. Scene Four (04:20)
5. Scene Five (02:46)
6. Scene Six (08:17)
7. Scene Seven (06:32)

And in 2008, they issued this one, which is 44:31…

1. Scenario one (06:28)
2. Scenario two (04:09)
3. Scenario three (05:46)
4. Scenario four (06:17)
5. Scenario five (08:33)
6. Scenario six (06:47)
7. Scenario seven (05:29)
8. Billy's theme / Harmonica suite (01:02)

This new one runs 51:58.

I bought that Label X CD in '94, and have been waiting for an improved version ever since.

Right, the longer run time implies it's expanded, and I was hoping Ford would specify. Expansions ("Deluxe" as Varese would say) are usually mentioned to promote a release. One assumes the latter Label X release was an expanded version of the earlier release, even if the track times aren't identical.

I guess I'm not sure what you're asking. It's very clearly expanded. Are you hoping he'll specify which tracks correspond from the old versions to the new one?

And I think the 2008 edition left off the end title that was on the earlier release. Or something weird like that.

Only just last year I was lamenting that this title needed to be back in print remastered when SISTERS came out and Lasher kind of hinted it could be done by other labels. It now has. Going to get this for sure.

P.S. I suppose the Tony Brmmer conducted Citizen Kane & The Magnificent Ambersons albums could also be in the future reissue plans given the Lasher estate is now licensing these.

One version has pieces that were not on the other version and viceVersa

It took a bit of time to sort that out and this is the result.

This new version contains pretty much everything, and I think it sounds very good overall, thanks in no small part to the work of James Nelson at Digital Outland.

I hope everyone enjoys it

I love this score. I love the film too, actually.

An instant purchase. Thanks to the instant digital download option, I'm already on my fifth play of the title.

So how is the sound quality remastered? It should sound much better than its original release?

So Label X released different material between their two releases, not the same material plus more. Here's a 2008 thread that bears this out.
https://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=52613&forumID=1&archive=0
And this DDR release conflates both. Yes, I said conflate, and I'd say it again.
