Does anyone remember buying this VHS tape 'Music In The Eyes' back in the nineties ?
It's a compilation of many outstanding Morricone movie themes.
I put it on last night (yes it still plays okay) after all these years.
The opening track still haunts me...

Unlike you, I can't play it anymore but I still fondly remember it, for instance the excerpts from SACCO & VANZETTI or IL DESERTO DEI TARTARI. And there was of course that stunning video of The healing from CASUALTIES OF WAR featuring the two Clemente brothers (aka Il trenino delle Ande) and the Maestro in the studio. Moving stuff to say the least.

Yes. I thnk I transferred it to a DVD-R about 20 years ago.

One thing I loved about it is how it set the music of GIU LA TESTA to the picture, timing the transition to Edda's voice with the slow motion kiss under the tree.

If somebody put that on a proper DVD or Blu-Ray, I'd be right there.

Cheers

Was that the one with the pan flute-playing brothers performing Casualties of War? I definitely had the video for a while but the memory’s a little hazy…

I think it's a great showcase for Morricone's music, the piece's are very well edited into the scene's and it covers some lesser known movies like the aforementioned and haunting Tempo di Uccidere. I particularly like the use of La Pace Interiore from La Califfa in the clips from Pasolini's uncompromising documentary about India. I do not believe there was any EM music in the full documentary though. The music and clips from Casualties of War are emotionally shattering, and the Fistful of Dynamite scenes are superbly edited to the music as previously mentioned.
Would be great to have on blu ray/DVD but in the meantime I need to get my video transferred!

I agree, and has Stephen Woolston has previously mentioned a DVD/Blu ray release would be most welcome.
