Hey everyone. Given the recent reissues of Label-X and Southern Cross material on Dragon's Domain Records and Music Box Records... I'm wondering if there's any chance that a remastered and expanded editions of FRANCES and HIGH ROAD TO CHINA? I know there is a Label-X SACD of the existing album program of FRANCES, but while there isn't much missing music, I ache for what missing music there is. There's a particularly peachy piece not on the album. I also know that HIGH ROAD TO CHINA was expanded, but the expanded CD lacks one track that was on the original album, so right now you kinda need both CDs to have everything. I guess it's an open letter to Ford. Cheers.

I think I’ve had enough HRTC for a lifetime to be honest, but I’d be pretty interested in an expansion of Frances. Yavar

While I would buy both, of the two Francis is the superior score and deserves the full treatment. I remember when the movie came out. With all the buzz, with Jessica Lange delivering her best performance, with Barry's score enhancing the intense drama, I was disappointed that JB did not receive an Oscar nomination. Also, The Best Years of Our Lives re-recording was a Lasher production, so perhaps that might be in the pipeline, as well.

Yavar Actually it needs a fix or two here and I’d love to have John’s original LP cover make a return. It was really elegant. Someone made a recreation of it awhile back in the custom covers thread.

Yes but there was one with all dark brown for the border. This one?

Yes but there was one with all dark brown for the border. This one? Yes! A handsome cover. Lasher made some great covers. Didn’t translate well to CD often.

Now Roger, we were all hoping for a „sure, we‘re on Frances right now!“

Now Roger, we were all hoping for a „sure, we‘re on Frances right now!“ I don’t recall there being much missing from the Frances album. The film is sparsely scored. What are you all looking for?

There isn't a great deal more music, but there is a particularly stunning cue which was also used as the trailer music. It's a much more "bright lights and glitzy Hollywood paries" take on the Meeting Harry theme. I cant believe it was left off the album. It's fantastic. And of course if the CD was expanded to include that cue, you may as well get everything out. Cheers

HIGH ROAD TO CHINA are in the works for a long while. Also GAME OF DEATH. Both belongs to Next Decade, nothing to do with John Lasher. I can't reveal any detail about the releases yet. FRANCES is tricky. The rights are shared between Universal Pictures, Brooksfilms and StudioCanal. We have tried several times, but without any luck so far.

There are several iterations of HRTC but if you guys are working on the definitive edition, I'll be there!

Is NIGHT GAMES also in the same ownership as GAME OF DEATH and HIGH ROAD TO CHINA? (I'm thinking of the Golden Harvest connection.) I love you for having GOD and HRTC in the works. A complete GOD, if that's possible, is most definitely one of my holy grails. A complete NIGHT GAMES is another. Cheers
