Hey all. I'm in Paris for 48 hours and I'm on the hunt for CDs released by European labels.

While there might be a few sealed goodies at FNAC, I'm looking for second-hand options as well. Rarities, mainly, as I already have a large and diverse collection. Sadly, my go-to Crocodisc is not open during my visit.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

Paris is not the best place for CD hunting…

A few years ago, I think it was pretty decent, both for new and second hand stuff but like in most European cities many shops have vanished since then. Yesterday, a Parisian shop specializing in classical music unfortunately also had to cease activity. The one mentioned earlier in this thread, Gibert Joseph, is by far the best place.

Try O'CD also, there's four of them:

24 Rue Pierre Lescot
12 Rue Saint-Antoine
26 Rue des Écoles (which you probably know since it's almost Crocodisc's neighbor)
46 Rue du Commerce

I was in Paris in 2022, and our hotel was a block away from Gibert Joseph, already mentioned. I stopped in three times and bought a few things. Really enjoyed it, except that I thought the classical section lacking. Crocodisc was just a few blocks further, so shopped there, too. Didn't have a chance to make it to Paris Jazz Corner or Superfly Records, though I really wanted to.

But, oh my, Paris! My first time there since high school. Happy to see that they finally finished that tall iron thing they were working on back then.
