Anyway, I like it a lot. Not quite up to the level of his later scores, but some great themes in there. Certainly worth it if you like Giacchino.

I mostly wanted to know what other people who heard it thought, I figured I would like it or I wouldnt have ordered it,and after enjoying Secret Weapons so much I would give it a try. thanks for your comment sd
Just noticed that since Feb this year Giacchino's rather fine & very energetic Jurassic Park score is now available on iTunes. I've had the CD for a very long time now and it still gets a regular workout unlike many others.
The first track ("Into The Forest") has a lovely theme that kicks in about 8 seconds in and has a nice ear worm quality to it.
If you like Giacchino's Medal Of Honor scores and don't have this, check it out. Btw while the last track is 16 minutes long, a chunk of that is actually some bonus music / hidden track.
Giacchino's Lost World is a lot of fun. Its a little "thin" in sound (arrangement, not recording quality) compared to the works that followed but this was very early in his career.
(I believe the story is that he was quite good at arrangement but still wasn't seasoned. The brass players were getting "over used" and some had bleeding lips! Tim had to step in and show him how to get the same sound without abusing the poor brass players.)
