Well, I would say the TMP theme, but I've heard it so many times that I've grown a bit tired of it, I'm sorry to say.

Same with the Wrath of Khan theme.

I think my favourite theme, although it's not a "main theme", is "A Busy Man".

A Busy Man for ST 5. I second that, too!

Jerrys "Klingon Theme" is probably my favority, right next to his Main Titles.

Besides the main theme from ST:TMP, my absolute favorite STAR TREK theme is "Ba'ku Village" from INSURRECTION. It's such a beautiful theme. I never grow weary of it!

My favorite Trek theme is the one I don't yet possess--Gerald Fried's Klingon theme! If you can hum that theme and identify the episode it's from you get a gold-plated no-prize...

My favorite Trek theme is the one I don't yet possess--Gerald Fried's Klingon theme! If you can hum that theme and identify the episode it's from you get a gold-plated no-prize...

Dut-dut-dut-dut-da,da,daaah . . . dut-da-da-dut-daaaaah!
Dut-dut-dut-dut-da,da,daaah . . . dut-da-da-dut-duh . . .

It must be that action cue (sometimes heard in a more brooding, mysterious low-octave-piano rendition) from Gerald Fried's quintessential second-season score, "Friday's Child."

I believe some of Fried's music from "Catspaw" also found its way into this episode, in the cave interior scenes. (How often did the music editors show enough respect to stick to the same composer for the incidental tracked-in cues?) And the tribal/Native-American-sounding stuff Fried uses here is highly reminiscent of the lovely score he wrote for the third season's "Paradise Syndrome."

Fried writes the most amusing cue-titles, by the way. A few of my favorites from this episode: "Music for Fruits," "Arm Barbecue," "Belly Feeler," "Bouncing Boulder," "Paternity Case," "New Capellan in Town," "The Mother Splits," "Road Hog," "Down the Throat," and "God Fathers." (THE MUSIC OF STAR TREK by Jeff Bond, pages 45-46)

I wonder if "Music for Fruits" was inspired by the costume designs for those Capellan tribesman. They are for all practical purposes wearing body-leotards and feather boas, and in the most outrageous colors. Theiss must have had a BALL dressing those strapping young fellows.

SPOCK: "Oochie, woochie, coochie, coo, Captain?"

There is no Trek TV score that will ever surpass "The Doomsday Machine" with me. To this day, I still cannot listen to that one cue without instinctively repeating Kirk's nervous, "Gentlemen...beam me aboard" after the transporter goes out.

Second on list of favorite TV scores is Fielding's "Trouble With Troubles" and to me, not using his bar fight music totally ruined the Tribbles "Deep Space Nine" episode.

Yes, that was typical for Berman. Everything from the old series was lovingly recreated but not Fielding's great score. McCarthy's score was IMHO not a alternative.

So many favourites....

"Doomsday Machine" is very effective, and I can't watch "Corbomite Maneuvre" without my spine tingling.

Also the TNG episode (can't remember the title offhand) where Jean-Luc lives out another life in the twinkling of an eye, and plays the Resican flute.

My wish would be for CD's of all the music from every episode of all the incarnations; but you can't be a Star Trek fan and not be an optimist.

Don't overlook Fried's score for "Amok Time." The fight music alone would make the score unforgettable, but there's also that wonderfully weird bass-guitar motif for Mr. Spock.

I don't any singular favorite, but in regards to the theme from "Star Trek: Voyager", funny little story:

To this day when I go to a grocery store and the open-top freezers ar particularly cold and have a layer of cold air, I run my hand threw the cold smokey air and thin of the theme, as y hand was the U.S.S. Voyager passing through the green star dust in the opening credits.

Homer Simpson: Sucks in air, then yells, "NNNNNEEEEERRRRRDDDDD!!!!!"

Are we talking about main title theme or any theme? I mean there's 55 years of music to choose from!

Star Trek Voyager Main Title
Genesis theme from WOK
First Contact From First Contact
All of Doomsday Machine

Favorite theme is the Main Title for the original series. But the other day I was listening to Catspaw, and was really digging Gerald Fried's theme for Kirk throughout the episode. One of my favorites.

DS9 season 4 version is my favorite Star Trek theme.

I hope the "The Way of The Warrior" variant (added synth and a thumper) makes its way onto that odds and ends Star Trek set that's been discussed over the past couple of years.

Damn tough one for me. If I seriously had to chose I'd have to say the Main Titles from The Wrath Of Khan. There's two runner ups that are ties for me. Deep Space Nine seasons 4-7 version as well as Enterprise. I'm kidding about Enterprise. Replace Enterprise with Voyager.

Speaking of Enterprise I wished they had kept McCarthy's original Main Title music in. Instead of using the annoying "Faith Of The Heart" song. I dunno who's dumb bright idea that was.
