It's a marvelous album as it is. I have never seen the movie. But from what I read here, JANE EYRE could be well deserving of THE EIGER SANCTION treatment.

More like the ET treatment, because while half the original album was unique "album arrangements" (i.e. basically concert versions) not used in the film, the other half of the album was actual film cues. This was not a similar case to Eiger Sanction or Jaws where two entirely separate recordings were made, one for film and one for album. I'm fairly certain, anyway.

Fair enough, I take that too.

I have a question. Does anyone here happen to know what Bernard Herrmann said about John Williams's Jane Eyre score?

I have read that he liked it, but I would like to know exactly what he said about it and the source of that piece of information if possible.

I wish this new CD never saw the light of day since it crashed the value of my 1988 Silva Screen CD.

And that, my friends, is why music should be seen as something to enjoy rather than an investment.

I'm glad it exists, otherwise I'd never have gotten it, Mr. Selfishpants.
