I'm getting this.

By the way, does anyone know the answer to this?: was the Amercian release "Screamers" (1981) featuring the same music? Or was the American edited version rescored?

I ask only because Soundtrack Collector lists Sandy Berman for the US version.

Was that the one with Dennis Christopher, where people were turned inside-out? Or the Peter Weller one based on the short story by Philip K. Dick?

It's the "inside out" one with Barbara Bach.

Sweet artwork.

Actually "Screemers" is the same album, minus on track, than "Island of the Fishmen".

I'm a little late to the party. Just saw SCREAMERS aka Island of the Fishmen. Loved the score and just tracked down a copy.

As for SCREAMERS, it appears there is different music at the beginning of the film during the added sequence that was shot by Corman's guys to beef up the horror. I've been trying to identify the music myself. It definitly features the Blaster Beam instrument, so I'm wondering if it was simply lifted off another Roger Corman production. The credits mention Luciano Michelini, who scored Fishemn and who's music is used in 90% of the film.

They also credit Sandy Berman with additional music. A quick google search shows that he is actually a sound design guy. So he was probably responsible for tracking the music.

Anyone know what other Corman movies featuring Blaster Beam that they could have lifted from?

Anyone recognize the blaster beam music used in the first 9 minutes here? (starting around 5:12)

Anyone recognize that music with the blaster beam?

Not familiar with the beam music at all. The film was released in 79 so it may have been a little early to have used any of Horners work with it. Possibly Up From The Depths? Depending when the US version was put together? Not sure when the beam first started to be used though? We know Rosenman used it for Prophecy in 78.

Yeah it’s puzzling. I just watched Up from the Depths recently and it doesn’t sound like that score.

It also definitely doesn’t sound like Prophecy, Humanoids from the Deep or Battle Beyond the Stars.

The "sting" at 5:52 is a string slash from Pino Donaggio's "Piranha". As appears to be the one at 7:49. And 8:48. And the synthesizer sting at 9:54.

The anthem for the lost civilisation is pretty epic. Sounds like it would be more at home in Chariots of the God's than a movie about hybrid fishmen.
This disc has great sound too btw, close miked and really crisp. Nice score.

I was able to track down a copy on Amazon. Can’t wait to hear it.

Love this score the expanded cometa cd is the one to get the Fin de Siècle Media sounds very flat in comparison and the extra tracks are worth having.

I’m pretty sure that’s the version I ordered.

Personally I never upgraded my Fin de Siecle album, due to the vastly inferior artwork of the Cometa release.

The 2012 Cometa version is over 52 minutes of music:

Notice the copyright starts with 1978 ... implying that the recording sessions on Luciano Michelini's score commenced/(were completed?) prior to 1979.

... and could the Cometa CD be worse than the WEB Records Screamers LP? smile

Your right Cometa artwork is rubbish lol never noticed any problem with the sound until I heard the difference after getting the Cometa release sold my copy of Fin De Siecle cd.

The artwork is on the reverse of the Cometa booklet I flipped mine round only it is nowhere near as sharp in detail as the Fin De Siecle.

I just purchased the earlier edition with nicer artwork but less music. What kind of stuff is it missing from the Cometa one?
