I've always liked Three's Company, simple but funny. Ritter was a comic genius. BTW, who do you guys like more the Ropers' or Mr. Furley?

Does It's Always SUnny in Philadelphia count as a sit-com? I don't watch TV but happened to see it late night at a relative's house and thought it was marvelous fun.

Blackadder
Red Dwarf
Ever Decreasing Circles
The Simpsons
Sorry!
Fawlty Towers
The Young Ones

Much the same, except you can remove Sorry! and The Young Ones, and insert Father Ted, Futurama and the three political sitcoms of Yes Minister, Yes Prime Minister and Prime Minister's Questions.

The last of these is scripted just as closely as the rest, but is often funnier.

It asks for favorite, so I assume only one; but I don't have only one. My favorites include:

The Honeymooners
Seinfeld
One Foot In The Grave
Absolutely Fabulous
The Andy Griffith Show
Frasier

The Odd Couple for all time fave, but I also love:

Family Guy
I Dream of Jeannie
The War at Home
M*A*S*H
Everybody Loves Raymond
Police Squad
Hope & Faith
Happy Days

And I preferred Mr. Furley also.

... and the three political sitcoms of Yes Minister, Yes Prime Minister and Prime Minister's Questions.

The last of these is scripted* just as closely as the rest, but is often funnier.

* by the same scriptwriters?

At its best: Only Fools & Horses (and it was often far better than just "at its best").

Also:
Just Good Friends
As Time Goes By
Yes Minister - as above - and, to a lesser extent: Yes, Prime Minister

I used to like some of the US sitcoms (MASH, Odd Couple) but have not been so taken in the last twenty or so years.
