I love, LOVE this cue from Morton Stevens' "The One Man Jury." A rousing action finale with an old fashioned "matinee ending" crescendo, then going straight into big, gorgeous, romantic orchestral jazz. And that coda! So lovely.

Also beautifully orchestrated, with an exquisite performance by The National Philharmonic Orchestra.

I know - true Mort Stevens all the way! A wonderful CD that shows that Mort also had the chops for feature films.

For years I have been trying to solve which episode of the 1982 "Ripley's Believe it or Not!" series David Newman scored. And which episode or episodes Morton Stevens scored. Well, today I can confirm at least one Morton did:

I've made the IMDb submission.

Thinking of Mort Stevens today as it will be 30 years on November 11th since his passing.

Here’s to a wonderful Composer of some of the finest Television music of the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

My only hope these days was that Buysoundtrax would still have an interest in releasing more of Mort’s stuff but I guess not.

The only thing left to do now is to keep making suites ripped from DVDs.

Pretty sad…

I'm watching A TV movie with a score by Morton Stevens, titled "Fugitive Family".

Yet another example of a fine unreleased score by Morton.

Why are so many of his scores unreleased even today? I understand the lawsuit over the theme has put the kibosh on "Hawaii 5-O", but there is so much more.

I thought you would like this one, Justin.

I’ve just about given up on any future releases by Mort.

So sad we can’t get his music, but we can have reissues upon reissues.

What’s next - a reissue of OUTLAND with a bonus track of Goldsmith burping
from the control booth:-(

Listening to another funky piece of goodness for a TV movie called "Strangers in 7A". Yet another sadly unreleased score.

Yes, suites for both scores mentioned this week, will be in my weekly suites next year. If no labels can do it (for what ever reason, including tapes), or don't find him profitable, I'll do what I can. I hope next year to do five to ten suites of scores by Stevens. One or two re-dos of older suites.

Great, Justin.

All I know is that I would be an extremely happy camper if some Mort Stevens would be released in 2023 - but I’m not holding my breath. Really sad and pitiful that this guy gets this kind of treatment.

Can anybody identify what series the cue about 19:00 in is tracked from? IT's not from the one episode of this series he scored:

Justin,

That cue is not a tracked cue. It is from this episode, “The Search” Composed by Mort, which is the German version shown at this link.

However, the cue was tracked into a couple ninth season episodes of HAWAII FIVE-O, one being “Target - A Cop” from 1976.

Oh, my mistake. I thought I was one a tracked episode.

Well, this one is a track job:

Anybody recognize the cue about 35:00 in:

I remember that car from “Wheels”. It was a customized A.M.C. A.M.X. coupe from auto designer Curt Brubaker (it was seen in a photo feature in an issue of “T.V. Guide”).

And this cue about 1:07:40 in:

I would swear that's a work by Stevens.
