Anyone care to update their Holy Grail list now that Intrada has released ALIEN, THE WIND AND THE LION, THE BOYS FROM BRAZIL, MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS, THE LAST VALLEY, 2001...and FSM has done FORCE 10 FROM NAVARONE and others?

I'll go with:

ISLANDS IN THE STREAM
PLAYERS
THE SALAMANDER
MASADA (Film tracks)
UNDER FIRE (Film tracks)
THE RIGHT STUFF
SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES

How about the Under Fire planned film tracks before they were replaced in the film by the album tracks.

Which we know are, alas, lost.

My personal list hasn't been updated since July...

I think I submitted a list before, but there are so many I doubt I'd be repeating myself. I think all my favorite composers have at least one outstanding:

Goldsmith - Lonely are the Brave
Morricone - Fat Man and Little Boy
Barry - Legend of the Lone Ranger
Delerue - Day of the Jackal
Jarre - Gambit
Jones - The Out of Towners
North - Willard
Bernstein - Love With the Proper Stranger
Schifrin - Hell in the Pacific
Herrmann - It's Alive

For starters.

I've got you all beat!

It's the official Holy Grail magnetic paperclip holder, available from Gentle Giant Ltd. this Christmas:

https://www.gentlegiantltd.com/catalog/search/brand/18

For those of you who celebrate Chanukah, and wish to trivialize your religion too, they also offer the Ark of the Covenant business card holder.

Pre-order NOW!!!

Rather than what each of us would love (a grail is far more than like) to have on our shelves, I would like to ask what others feel might be on offical "The Grail List" that is refered to often by Intrada et al when they say, "a Grail like Alien" etc will be coming soon. ...Make the flailing after the next clue less flailing perhaps.

SPARTACUS and BACK TO THE FUTURE are always there.

MASADA, GREMLINS and STAR TREK V for Goldsmith.

FAMILY PLOT, BLACK SUNDAY and SUGARLAND EXPRESS representing the Williams gang.

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS pops up alot.

THE ADVENTURES OF YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES (or whatever the actual title is - obviously not one of my grails).

What would be the other "grails" on the "official" list?

(And we should note and celebrate that WIND AND THE LION, ALIEN, MONSTER SQUAD and BABY all came from Intrada and are no longer on the list, with HEAVY METAL and UNDERFIRE from FSM [confirming that the album is all we're ever going to get], and THE GREAT ESCAPE and KARATE KID from Varese... and the few I'm forgetting. Anyway, my point is they are all out, so yay! Good things do sometimes come to those who wait... a long, looooong time!)

But this thread IS about personal holy grails (per the original post), not about creating an objective all-encompassing list of must-have titles that everyone agrees upon (which is an impossible dream anyways). If you wish to start a new topic, though, the "post new thread" button is on the top or bottom right hand corner of the page. wink
