We do have one CD scheduled for this summer that if anything will be MORE sexy than Twilight Zone: The Movie. A real Holy Grail that has been released before, but never complete. You can try to guess but you will only drive yourself crazy. In fact it’s so “hot” we’re going to pay the re-use fees for the unreleased music so it will be, like The Omega Man 2.0, an “unlimited” edition.

Not to start the guessing, but I would LOVE this to be Goldsmith's Outland.

It, along with Capricorn One, Alien and Star Trek: The Motion Picture represent for me a time when Goldsmith could do no wrong and was at his peak creatively when it came to science fiction scores.

Man, if it was Outland... the last of those scores to be released in complete form!

And the sounds on Outland! Those spooky "swooooooosh" things (whatever they are). And "Hot Water"... what a powerhouse!

Please, oh please, oh please...

Everytime we get news about an upcoming "holy grail," I think of the Simpsons episode where Marge goes to the police academy and one of her fellow recruits yells, "Forget about the badge! When do we get the freakin' guns?!" smile

And yes, Outland would be cool. I was also thinking the other day, has Danny Elfman had a limited edition expanded score released? And if not, how about Pee-Wee's Big Adventure? I know, not exactly "holy grail" material but I like it.

And Lucas, thanks for the kind words re: the bloggers. I've been having fun writing them and reading the comments. (The Star Trek score recaps take a while since I watch each movie again and peruse the Net for any good background material I can use, not to mention all the links which I test before posting.)

As one of the out of town travelers, I'd welcome any other events people can think of. The cost to get there and stay for only two short events, although worth it, would be greatly enhanced with other things to do and since this is truly a social event, dinners (with beer of course) smile or any local quick sight-seeing trips would be just great. There will be a lot of time to fill between and after events that weekend. Can't wait!

Of all Goldsmith scores I can think of as "sexy", "Outland" is the least of them.

The one cue on the entire soundtrack I really love is the final track.

My guess for the score that has been released before, but never in complete form: OBSESSION by Bernard Herrmann, which is a holy grail for many people.

It's great to have witnessed the evolution of FSM into what it is now, like an octopus with "hands" into various forms of film music events and things. Too bad that I live on the other side of the world, of course, and that I can't be where "it's happenin'", but all the better for those who can.

The beauty part, though, Thor...you can certainly use the internet to job hunt in California...possibly expand your "performer" horizons by going on auditions, etc. If only for a few years....

"Final Message?" That track's my least favorite!

To each his own, I guess...

I think we should pick a bar for the night and all go out and have some cocktails that would be cool as hell!

Not Body Heat. Didn't mean sexy literally.

I'd love to have a complete version of this (especially as I've had to make do with a CDR copy of the original album for years).

Obsession would be great but is there really a market for 3000+ copies of it?

To this end: Expect the next three FSM CDs to be one score apiece, $19.95 apiece, and two of them are expansions of Warner Bros. Records LPs. They are not as earth-shattering as Twilight Zone, but they are quality scores, now complete (or nearly so) and in terrific sound, probably to be released over the course of May. Oh, here’s a hint! The two WB Records LPs (by different composers) were both orchestrated by Shuken and Hayes…think about who those two worked for, then check the WB Records catalog and you might find our titles.

I tried searching for the possible titles but I have no idea what they are. What's left to be released from the Warner Bros. LP catalog?

Lukas did, and that was a Warner Brothers LP and he said he was working on a musical (I thought he was joking). A complete one of CAMELOT would appeal to musical and soundtrack fans. Especially with all the Alfred Newman material!

Shuken died in 1976, so it has to be a title in the WB LP catalog before then, and the only film I can find in the Shuken or Hayes imdb credits that was issued on WB was, indeed, Camelot, which Lukas says it is not. And there are TWO such titles to find. You have really got me curious, Lukas. But, of course, that's the point, isn't it?
