A long time ago The Mutant suggested this score, so I took a listen to the cues on SAE and finally ordered it recently. He was sooo right! Kickass score! So much so that I had to get the Blu-ray (separate thread to come under General Discussion) and TFC is a pretty decent film, too... IMHO.
Your thoughts on the score? (And forgive if there's a posting previously for this, but I'm finding it hard as a relative newbie to search for previous threads.)

While I enjoy many of Scott's efforts, this one is right up there with A BRIDGE TOO FAR as a score that conceptually really misses the boat (or carrier.)
That march just does not speak to the sci-fi aspects of the film at all.

Loved the film and the score.
It always felt to me like a "Star Trek" episode without the "Trek" elements. 
It's more a feature length 'Twilight Zone' feature Serling never got to make.
I like the movie very much. My only problem with it is that the characters never really get to do anything proactive. They know better then to change history so they end up being little more than spectators. For all that, it works way better than it should.
I really like the score. Exciting, tense, very memorable themes.

Good score , really like the main themes, the march and MR Tideman's theme. John Scott was always great at delivering memorable themes that stick with you long after viewing the film or hearing the score, As for the movie I seem to like it more then most. I love time travel stories they create deep thinking in us all. Of course there is plenty of interesting lines along the way, but the one I always enjoyed was the bit, If I could go back in time and have a fight with my father before I was born and kill him Then how could I be born to go back in time to kill him[ha-ha] wonderful thought[those were not the exact words, letter by letter spoken, but that was the drift]The film was fun with a great cast . However when I saw the film in the theatres over 30 years ago and seeing it with people over the years since, many of them say the same thing. The ending is a cop out, it seem to be offering some great potential and then fails to deliver. Not just the action fans were disappointed but many of the average viewers who just was waiting for the 1970's air force to wipe out the Japanese fleet. Because this did not occurred many people shrug their heads and say , it was ok, but it should have been made for TV. In a way that logic makes sense.

A very good score, but not without some corny moments (I cringe at the quote of the national anthem in "Operation Pearl Harbor"). On the other hand the love theme is one of Scott's most beautiful, and "Back Through The Time Warp" is excellent.
