I have heard wonderful things about the Lee Holdridge score for Old Gringo. I would like to know what you think about it. Many thanks.

Everything you've heard it true and more. It's beautiful and was one of the best scores of that year.

Lovely score. You may also be interested in his music for The Tuskegee Airmen.

Yep. It's a beautiful score loaded with lovely themes, and it significantly elevated the film, which most people hated. Kind of a shame because Gregory Peck's performance was outstanding.

Great pick. Tuskegee was a score introduced to me by Swashbuckler and it is really outstanding.

Old Gringo is excellent but I don't seem to play it very often. I should change that...

Did you see the film? I seem to recall you being a fan of Mr. Peck...

This is one of the first CD's I ever recall purchasing. My gawd it's GORGEOUS! Hated the film, but love the score. "Mists of Avolan" equally stupendous. I really need to listen to more Holdridge.

Yeah, it would be so nice to do a deluxe edition at some point...

Great score. Never seen the film so don't know how much music is missing.
The old GNP CD is perfect and sounds fine, as far as I recall.
But it's Lee Holdridge so I won't be holding my breath for any kind of expansion anytime soon frown

Really great score!Maybe Lee Holdridge’s best.Sadly the CD had the orchestra reversed,so You will hear violins on the right and bass and cellos on the left.Just Made me mad...

Wasn't this getting an expansion? I recall one of the labels saying it was coming a year or two ago.

Yes, Ford Thaxton has commented that it's in the pipeline at BSX/DD, so hopefully...soon.
And they work with James Nelson a lot, so any problems with the previous edition's sound will be cleaned up just fine smile
