Tonight, Monday, March 28, Get TV will run a Merv Griffin Show from 1966 with both Joan and John Wayne as guests. Also Peggy Wood from "The Sound of Music." And Robert Vaughn.

I think what he might mean that Crawford never made a movie that's now regarded as a top tier classic, such as GONE WITH THE WIND or something, but I think GRAND HOTEL is an American movie classic, though it's mostly thought of as a Garbo picture.

Oh, these delicate, finer-than-spider's-silk, definitions! big grin

My last Crawford was REUNION IN FRANCE.

Look up this movie on Wikipedia. There's a quote from Crawford about it.

Why does it have to be posthumous? Let's give RoryR a call!

Late report:

Pretty standard stuff, but not terrible. Crawford is her usual self, but Conrad Veidt steals the show at one point. He's great.

Ok how many of you checked the film to see if Joan had a late role down the cast list...only to realise it was Marshall being funny and pretending you meant Broderick?!!

TORCH SONG (1953)

TCM ran this a while ago. I hadn't seen it in years and it's perfectly awful in every way, especially the "Two Faced Woman" production number. But, as usual, Joan gives it her all. Got to give a girl credit.

MILDRED PIERCE when it was on TV a couple of years ago. I'm not a Crawford fan, but it's a bloody good film.
