Having just read the liner notes for the Lalaland re-release of this marvelous score I was surprised to learn that the music was recorded in the same studio where Star Wars was taped two years later. Unfortunately the notes say nothing about who actually played the score (National Philharmonic?) and why the music was recorded in England. The dates of the recording are also not given. I love reading the "Technical Notes" for every soundtrack release but again sadly nothing in the Lalaland liner notes about how the score was remastered. Can anyone fill me in?
