FSM needs to release this score, which is the highlight of this sometimes disappointing film.

I disagree. I think both the score and the film are quite satisfying.
The plot is filled with twists and turns, wonderful performances from all the principals, and a neat kicker of an ending. It may not be the
masterpiece that "The Magnificent Seven" or "High Noon" is, but it has its place in the western genre, and I'm damn glad to have it on
dvd. It remains a film I enjoy every time I see it.

Found this old discussion. Not sure what there is NOT to like in this wonderful, funny and cool Charles Strouse score. Wished there were an available recording, or at least a youtube video summarizing it.
