Growing up I was a HUGE Six Million Dollar Man fan. In fact, I was a Lee Majors fan in general and followed all of his film work as well (as corny as it was, I simply dug the guy's work). I have noticed his films and TV work have somehow been ignored in the TV/film score department and I find it, well, I find that it just sucks. I love the scores for Steel, The Norseman (remastered I bet this Mendoza-Nava score would surprise a lot of people of just how great it is...Jaime is a great composer who has sadly been overlooked) and The Last Chase in particular. Then the curse carries over to The Six Million Dollar Man series which has practically zero availability in music (and let's not forget the DVD series is probably one of the last to YET be released from 70's TV land...of course it is...it was my favorite series!!). Hopefully, someone, somewhere will eventually get to these goods before they completely demagnetize.

I'd get a Six Million Dollar Man CD for Lee's vocal of "Jamie" alone. Was that, or was that not, one of the heights of 70s cheese -- along with the bionic pillow fight between Steve and Jamie?

I agree that “The Norseman” had a stirring musical score by Jaime Mendoza-Nava, and that he is a forgotten composer. Although he had nearly 80 film and television scores to his credit, Mendoza-Nava saw only one score released in his lifetime: “The Savage Wild,” a 1969 nature documentary.

Don't forget The Liberation of L.B. Jones.

Music by Elmer Bernstein (great main title).

You can blame the Martin Caidin estate for the problems with Six Million Dollar Man from what I've heard; it's led to some absolutely bizarre moves like cutting the Oscar Goldman CHARACTER out of episodes of The Bionic Woman (because Goldman was a character in the original Martin Caidin novel).

I love it when, in the name of wanting 'more' money people shoot themselves in the foot out of greed...and make NO money. Spock is shaking his head.

There are also 114 episodes of "The Fall Guy" without any music release. You may recall that Lee Majors sang the title song. I've tried to get Fox interested in releasing some music from some of the 96 episodes that I composed the music for... but so far... Nada!

The obvious one for me is George Duning's music for "The Big Valley".

that would be awesome to have released! that show had some very memorable cues.

Who remember David Raksin's 1968 "Will Penny" and the series: "Owen Marshall: Counselor at Law"?

Excellent theme by Bernstein for the latter.

Wow...Jaime Mendoza-Nava. There's a truly forgotten and underated composer. I looked over his IMDB credits and realized I have seen virtually none of the films he scored. Yet, I have SAVAGE WILD and always loved it. A really lovely and unique score. The only other film I've seen is THE LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK, which is not a very good film but I vividly remember the score and how much I liked it. It has a subtle backwoods color to represent the Ozark locations but at the same time is creepy and haunting. It makes the film seem much scarier than it actually is. Just based on those two films and what I've heard about his other scores, I would happily buy more of his work.

These two were the coolest things in show business for several years running. Especially when they were together.

The legal impasse between Universal and the current owners of the novel CYBORG is very sad. Also, since it was the music half the time that made them seem so cool, I'd be even more eager to see an SMDM music release than a Region 1 DVD.

Me too...considering I already own the episodes in a very watchable state.

I remember both well. Owen had an outstanding theme and Will Penny was also very memorable!

Who can forget the classic original song by Dusty Springfield? Very cheesie, but great fun.

"A Killer with a Badge" (1974), guest starring Richard Anderson!
