I was sure there was a thread on this film and score, but alas.
This is my favourite score by Convertino. It's a blinder!
Big orchestral fireworks for the skiing sequences, and a tender love theme for two of the boring characters (the film is a dog).
With everything getting released these days, I wonder if this score is on any of the soundtrack labels' radar.
Is anyone else familiar with this brilliant score?
I know Convertino has a small (but loyal) fan following around here.

Beautiful score. I think some parts sound like John Williams.

Well, Kev, I scoured the archives and found these threads in which ASPEN EXTREME was discussed (namely by you, though the usual Convertino fans chimed in as well, including myself):

A better version above...but without the Love Theme.

Someone even went to the trouble of taping some straight off the telly via his phone!
This clip has the Love Theme after the cup presentation music.

C'mon Intrada...you can do better than that for us...Pretty Please? wink

This score, together with STORY OF A WOMAN by John Williams and VOLUNTEERS by James Horner, are my 3 main Grails now, in terms of unreleased scores on CD.
This one can likely only be done by Intrada, since it's Disney owned.
Intrada also have VOLUNTEERS at the ready (allegedly) but have owner rights issues to negotiate/deal with.
And JW himself is holding off the release of SOAW.
But things can change, so hope springs eternal.

This is the movie that has a song co-written by Hans Zimmer that he pretty much turned into the "Days of Thunder" score.

I can't believe you're still on about this score, Kev! I couldn't make fun of you in another thread for the Always score because you wrote such a nice post about your connection to it, but no such fuzzy feelings here - you're a fool, my friend! Hahaha

Haha.
Well, if nothing else, at least I got you to tap in at the forum again wink
Yes, I have no personal recollections towards ASPEN EXTREME (the film is a TV Movie style dog) but you can't deny the music by Convertino is pretty impressive.
It's Olympian at times! And that Love Theme is great.
What I can't understand, though, is this.
The film is from 1993, and we all know you won't rest until EVERY FILM from 1993 has had its score released.
So, what gives here, Shaun?
Where's the love, man?
Show me on the doll where ASPEN EXTREME touched you big grin
