James Horner Superstar

Seeing that video just makes me smile. I'm happy James had a such a big smile on his face, looks like he was really enjoying himself, that's great. It also makes me crazy jealous, as I would love to be able to shake his hand, oh well, it's not too be.

I may need to see this film, I'm hearing decent things. It's just hard because I love the original version, all the cast and music etc. I do hope this makes it to CD, please please please.

I am not really a fan of iTunes but I purchased a couple of tracks from the soundtrack. 'Leaving Detroit' and 'Final Contest' are faves so far.

Amazon.com is doing it, but Amazon in other countries is another matter. The UK site doesn't have it for instance frown

Yeah I realize that...CreateSpace is only partnering with the US store. But the good news is that now there is at least a way to obtain a lossless version of the score. If the UK does get it most likely it will be an actual pressed disc, as with Ninja Assassin and Clash of the Titans.

LOVE this one by Horner and hope there's an expansion or rerelease of it in the works at some point. Glad to see it get a bump.

I really enjoy his late-career resurgence of Avatar, Karate Kid, Black Gold, Amazing Spiderman, Wolf Totem, and Living in the Age of Airplanes.

Agreed, I was revisiting Black Gold this week and find such a marvelously engaging and inventive symphonic work from late era Horner.

EDIT: I was looking on the Movie Music UK site to read what Horner-expert Jon Broxton had to write about Black Gold... and he didn't review it! I'm shocked!
