Didnt think I knew the score but listening to the samples I do. Wonderful. I recognise the main title for sure - anyone know if it was used by Fielding for anything else? somebody posted only just the other day on a Fielding thread how impressive this one is and how great it would be to get a release!! Ah, I found the line: It was Graham S Watt on the top ten Fielding scores thread: He said: "Oh, and don't you know that HUNTERS ARE FOR KILLING should be everybody's favourite Jerry Fielding score on CD?..." He will be pleased.

This is a really fantastic disc, Lukas! Though, these releases -- once again -- are just too much, too often. I mean -- two more from Intrada in the same day. This will unfortunately have to wait, and @ 2000 units, hopefully it stays around for a while. Kimmel -- please, strike yet another bolt against this plague of announcements! I can't stand having to make these quick decisions -- ultimately losing out on good stuff.

Wow, I'll be getting this one! I remember watching this film, on late night TV many years ago and remember I enjoyed it. I think it's a good idea announcing this on the same evening as the new Intrada's as it gives folks the opportunity of doubling up orders and saving on postage costs.

More Fielding, even if it's The Big Sleep's "older brother", is always welcome! Great timing on this one, as I won't have 'net access after Wednesday. Is that where Ive heard it before Jim? Was it reused for Big Sleep? apologies but its somewhile since I heard Big Sleep so I cant compare.

Oh, baby. Anybody who likes the 70's funk cues in Elmer Bernstein's McQ will absolutely LOVE the bonus cuts on this cd. They are HOT! Listening to them had me reaching for a dinner-plate sized afro wig, a polyester jumpsuit in powder blue, and my platform shoes!

My friends, if you check the ad copy, we wrote: "The uptempo main theme is the same mixed-meter jazz piece that he used as the theme to Matt Helm (1975 telefilm) and The Big Sleep (1978)." I have been trying to release this soundtrack for 11 years! Lukas

I have nothing to do with this album but the title music to Hunters Are For Killing is the most outrageously good "big city" music I've ever heard--neck and neck with The Taking of Pelham One Two Three for me. Fielding did some cues for shots of Chicago in the Kolchak: The Night Stalker series that have a little of the same vibe. SuPOIB. Sure you did Jeff! Don't you remember making those CDRs for us off of the DATs I got from UCLA circa 1999? The Stone Age! (p.s. we had everything newly transferred and remastered for this CD, but originally it was going to be the next CBS album after Monte Walsh!) Lukas
